    You know, I haven't done a good job explaining the "don't move' orders. I need to address this.

    You can thorough search and those are your move orders and your behavior combined, because it's "search plus don't move".



    "DON'T MOVE" ORDERS-

    ENGAGE TARGET: uses movement points to prevent someone in your zone of control (your square and the 8 surrounding you) from performing their movement out of your range without at least one round of combat. Only works on one target in your zone of control. This is a manual command. It will not function without your explicit orders, and it also doesn't work against those who were engaged in combat with you in the previous round and chose to flee. This happens instead of movement orders.

    This one can function with stealth mode or without.

    SNIPER RIFLE: You may fire your long-range weapon once at anyone in your awareness radius. This counts as your move for the round. It's kind of like Engage Target, except with your sniper.

    This one, on further review, functions with the handicap of stealth mode anyway, because you lose a first strike if someone comes up behind you while you're sniping someone. So you're automatically in stealth mode while sniping, from now on. Which is good because game just started.

    SEARCH THOROUGHLY: Executes the search command. This is a manual command. It will not function without your explicit orders. This kind of search attempts to locate anything inside your zone of control (9 squares) and is more effective than the usual search command. This counts as your move for the round.

    This one cannot function in stealth mode because you're looking for things. That means you have to come out in the open and rummage through stuff... not viable to be also hidden.

    STEALTH MODE
    : Hides in this location. This is a manual command. It will not function without your explicit orders. This is your move for the round. For if you wish to be in stealth mode and just not move.

    You may also trade items and weapons and whatnot, whether you move or not, as long as you're in adjacent squares. That doesn't count as a move or a mode or any of that. You can also "Don't Move" and combine it with Berserk, Assassinate, Vigilante, Stealth Vigilante, Cooperate, and so forth. You simply can't combine stealth and search. As always, you're in Run Away mode unless you specify and tell me how long you wish to Stand Your Ground.

    This is an excellent example of orders. Well done!

    In case anyone is confused, they can look like this. I've also gotten some very detailed orders, and that's also quite fine and encouraged! As long as I have the minimum info, I'm good. More is better but not required and may not be all that possible without a weapon anyway. 95% of you are sending in orders exactly how they are supposed to be. You guys rock. Others, are answering my questions promptly, and sending in orders exactly right afterward, or just clarifying something I didn't understand. You guys rock.

    The rest simply haven't sent in orders yet. I am also missing character stats from a minority of the players, but it is a small enough minority that it doesn't damage the game. It will stink if they don't send in their stats and participate, but I anticipated problems like this. Fortunately it isn't too bad yet.

    How many times can a zombie be killed? I remember something about zombies dying and respawning somewhere and I'm hoping that is not the case.

    Zombies have 3 spawns. So you kill a player once, they turn into a zombie. They can die twice after that. On the third death, they are dead for good.

    It's virtually impossible to destroy the zombie horde, but you can certainly weaken it.

    Doesnt your initial write up say that the goverment has set up a base for people to escape to? And the town people are told that they must make their own way there?

    Escaping from the town, you'll be able to move to the west and there's Route 3 in that direction, where everyone is told to escape to. Any way you escape from town, you basically accomplish that.

    The abandoned military base isn't the rally point.

    This "not sending in orders" might be a problem in every round.

    Maybe a default order should be set up that would be executed if players have not sent in orders on time.
    That might involve:

    • dropping a random item
    • run away to a random location if attacked
    • do nothing but sit on the ground sulking if not attacked.
