Default Getting back on my horse

After seeing the recent activity here I have decided I want to play STW again.

However, when I did my last campaign reports back in January/February I was playing on the Warlord edition. In this version, during the larger battles your reinforcements come on randomly around the map. Is there a specific patch or fix I need to download in order to get them to deploy back in my original zone?

Any particulare reason why you've gone back to STW v1.0 and not STW/MI?

I can't remember now whether it fixes the reinforcements bug, but you will need the STW v1.12 patch. I'm about 95% sure that problem was fixed in a patch before MI was released.

I don`t know whats going on mate. I have Warlord edition installed which obviously includes MI too but it says the version number is 1.00. This is the only version i`ve played in years.

Ah I see. You need to download the 1.02b patch for warlord edition: http://www.mizus.com/files/files/STW...v1.02_Euro.exe

The last version of STW was v1.12
The latest version of STW/MI/WE is v1.02b

Confusing yes, but when they released MI instead of going to v2.0 (as they did with VI for MTW), CA went back to v1.0 again.

I had thought the reinforcements bug was in STW v1.0 and not MI v1.0

Double click the file then just click unzip first and it will extract to a temp folder.

Then setup language "english" and ok

Then it's your standard "next, next, next, finish" job.

The patch is for Warlord Edition, so ensure you have that installed before proceeding.

    FRAPPS?

I tried the link and it links to the WE 1.02b patch...

Try clearing your browser cache and try again. Also see if you can download the patch elsewhere.

v1.12 cannot be installed over WE/MI - you need the oiginal core game to ware this patch. And yes it does "fix" the reinforcements - in actuality the original release never had that problem; it was introduced in MI IIRC.

The Caravel Mod: a (very much) improvedvanilla MTW/VI v2.1 early campaign

Please make sure you have the latest version (v3.3)
Since v3.3 the Caravel Mod includes customised campaigns for huge and default unit settings

That explains it, and why I've never seen the issue (though I had heard of it). I stuck with STW for quite a while and bought MI about a year after it's release - patching it up immediately.

To the matter in hand, gollum have you downloaded the link I provided for Wishazu? As far as I know I have linked to the WE 1.02b patch (and not FRAPS), though the Sake does strange things to one's mind. (it would be helpful to know that I have not provided Wishazu-sama with the wrong link)

Nope, the link is correct mate but i`m still having the same problem. Do I need to unzip the file to a specific location?

Yes, either extract it somewhere else or clear out your "C:\Documents and Settings\<Wishazu>\Local Settings\Temp" directory then run the patch installer again. That should do the trick. Let me know if it works or not.

Ensure there are no other "setup.exe" files on your desktop. For some reason the patch extracts all files to "C:\Documents and Settings\Asai\Local Settings\Temp" and then tries to run the closest local setup.exe file. I had a "setup.exe" on my desktop for a hex editor program and the patch tried to run that instead of the proper "setup.exe". I would guess that you have the FRAPS' "setup.exe" on your desktop?

Ok try this. After double clicking the icon and when you are at the screen where it asks you to unzip the patch

Unzip to "C:\warlordpatch" or similar. Uncheck that one box as shown in the image. One is has unzipped the files click ok and then cloe the main "unzip" window.

Next open windows explorer and browse to "C:\warlordpatch", or wherever you installed it and run "setup.exe" as shown

When the patch is installed the correct version number will display in the top left of the main menu ingame as shown
