I was just watching a french documentary*, and it struck me; the narrator was talking french! If I was in another country, like England, Germany or Italy, he would've been dubbed, but he wasn't dubbed here. In Norway, Denmark and Sweden we don't dub anything apart from cartoons aimed at 7-year olds(like Lion King), and even those are always screened in two version, one dubbed and one original. French, German, English, whatever, we don't dub things.

But it's done everywhere else. Does this simply make me and my Swedish and Danish friends superior to everyone else on the planet? Why are everyone else afraid of foreign languages, why don't they want to learn them?

*incidentally about Mein Kampf....
