Thread: SSD

    Default SSD

I hope this is the right forum for this question.

Would a SSD materially improve my computer's performance with EB?

I thought that they have much higher read speeds and I thought that would help with the load times.

    Thanks,

It was my understanding that SSDs have lower read speeds but consistent across the board. The main benefit from SSDs is lower power consumption, reduced weight and durability. But I may be wrong.

The SSDs have higher read and write speeds than most of the hd, albeit lose to some hd in certain aspects they have across the board better performance, reaching almost the sata 3gb/s certificate. The probability is if you get a good ssd you will have more performance, although the ssds now have a really big problem, the write. They have a limited re-write deficiency, that is you have limited amount of times that you can write information, and since the information is recorded in groups, and those packages can't be divided and so the whole block is used, and since you have like four thousand times the possibility to write on that block, they have a short lifetime, maybe reaching 3 to 5 years which shouldn't be a concern since by that time you would probably have another pc
