Default Prebattle crash + setup screen crash

Just bought a new computer and installed eb 1.2 and I had a couple of odd experiences. First when I went on the setup screen and clicked "widescreen" it crashed. Restarted eb and did it again and it worked fine.

Then I started messing around to see what my new comp (and new video card) could handle as far as unit size. When I tried a three army test custom battle on "huge" it crashed before the battle started. The game did warn me that I had picked too many troops for the battle. On large with all settings on high no problems so far.

I'm going to start a game on large unit size and see what happens (hopefully nothing). I was just curious if the first issue has ever been encountered before, and whether the second is probably just a normal result of trying to do a battle with way too many troops, as I suspect.

Yup, I can echo that widescreen-crash, but as you said, one can change it afterwards without problems.

RTW has this engine related memory bug, so I assume your crash in the multiplayer game is related to this. If you use win7 64bit you could give RTW more memory with CFF Explorer or any program that gives you the feature to increase memory. (at your own risk)

I'm happy to hear the wide screen thing isn't unusual.

I'm fine with large unit size. I do have win7 64bit but I'll likely leave it alone.

    Thanks.
