Thread: Battle of Callicinus

    Default Battle of Callicinus

Hey guys, I'm an avid player of EB 1.2 and am eagerly anticipating EB II
The sheer amount of historical information one can glean from the mod itself is astonishing, and as such I would like to ask the developers or fans of the mod a question-
I can't find anything about the Battle of Callicinus! All the web offers is that it was in 171 BC and ended with a Macedonian victory. They also point me to Livy 42.58-60, but as I do not have a copy of him and do not know where to obtain one, I'm at a loss. Any help or links would be greatly appreciated. Thanks a bunch!

You can find Livy online in several places, the years of Livy you are looking for are here http://oll.libertyfund.org/?option=c...html&Itemid=27

Most classic authors are online in lots of places and versions, it is always worth doing a Google search on "[Insert Author name] online".

Edited to add that if you do not want to google all the time, I have two links to the largest collections of classical authors I know of online on my blog here. Beware that it is a roleplaying blog, so do not take everything at face value- the links are good though.

'For months Augustus let hair and beard grow and occasionally banged his head against the walls whilst shouting; "Quinctillius Varus, give me my legions back"' -Sueton, Augustus.

"Deliver us oh God, from the fury of the Norsemen", French prayer, 9th century.
