Thread: AI Campaign Crash

    Default AI Campaign Crash

Hi, I'm playing Pontic. I have recently installed a clean verson of RWT Vanilla and EB through 1.2. The game has always crashed for me during AI Campaign. I would say about 1 in 50 times. The games exits and a Windows says "Rome Total War has stopped working". My OS is Vista. Sometimes when I reload and do the same thing it doesn't crash. Other times, it crashes again so I try to do someting differently (attacking an army or city) on my turn and then it doesn't crash. Any ideas?

I tried not activitating the script, but the same thing happened (by the way, it is on the Roman AI turn).

Did you apply all fixes? And did you install RTW+EB outside of the program files?

You say 1 in 50 times...try to save often and in different slots. If it crashes during an AI turn, please see the frequent issues how to get around this (both linked in my sig)

I hadn't applied the fixes. I did that, and then it went one turn without crashing. However, after my next battle, it crashed again. I realized that I didn't install it ouside of program files. Can I still move it over to a new folder?

I went ahead and moved the program to a separate folder, the game loaded fine, but it still CTD on Rome AI again.

If you had not installed the fixes, chances are there is some reform marker spam causing crashes. Whenever a new building is created in a settlement which is full, the game will crash. You'll have to revert to an older save.

So, it sounds like that even though I've installed the 1.2 fixes now, I would still need to go back to an earlier saved game. I was foolish and didn't get any. Anyways, thanks for the help. I think I'll do a clean install again this time with the 1.2 fixes.
