Charities aren't infallible. A lot of the money you give to the bigger or more general "Help the Needy" or "Children in Need" etc. is wasted on admin.

This is what I meant when I said money going into charities is diluted, perhaps I exaggerated a little, but same general point. How dare me....

I find collecting & helping personally is better as you know you've personally got the money without it being worn at before the needy receive it.
