The Italians did this during WWII and lost their entire fleet due to lack of radar and aircraft carriers.Some pirate ships employ the tactic of banding their vessels together into practicaly unsinkable Goliaths... you should always study the enemy unit descriptions and stats if you can. I'ld suggest attaching a spy onboard. Leaving your super-expensive fleet blind is not recommended. Imagine building a massive battleship with no radar
