It looks like the worst things combined: 300, Gladiator and the sex aspects of Rome.

Nothing wrong with sex. As I have often said, sex is a central part of most people's thoughts, we think about it all the time and engage in it as often as possible. If something is to depict life as it is, we can hardly leave sex out because of prudishness.

Sex just to attract viewers to a non-porn thingie is another thing, will never make me watch anything. Why watch the fake thing? If you want sex, watch porn.

OMG! It's ridicule. 300 was a good movie but that! Bad series...

    Nawak!

No offense but how would any of you know when you haven't seen it?

We all gave Alexander a try (and regretted it).

But anyway I saw some interesting things about it, the gladiator school being owned by a wealthy man who is of humble origins, Spartacus will be depicted as an auxiliary deserter sentenced to slavery in accordance with our ancient sources, it has potential.

Although I do admit the main preview looks like it will be full of blood.

Well it looked interresting if you ask me - possibly not from the point of historical accuracy (there probeably isn't even any in it althoug we will see...)

Will keep my eyes on it - 300 was enjoyeable (even if not trough the galsses of the Historical fan)

I like the pop up text: "Some stories are written in blood" - reminds me on an AAR somehow...

I think a little sex might fit to the movie: Gladiators were really a central part of most Roman womans fantasies - I even remember to have read about it from some Roman Historian.

Well just see what this will be like....

I do not mind blood, my favorite movie is Stalingrad...

It is the style I mind. Besides the almost inevitable lack of satisfactory historical accuracy.

Idk, the story of Spartacus intrigues me. Has anyone else read Howard Fasts "Spartacus"? Id recommend it. Although, im not sure if its "Historically" accurate. But much info do we really have on Spartacus?

Hey you can knock 300, but Gladiator was probably the best film of the last decade. It might not have gone for 100% historical accuracy (though name any mainstream Ancient Era film that ever has), but was visually stunning, superbly acted and a great script and story......a duel to the death to anyone who disagrees
