They work fine. You buy special printable media for them and the results are good.
But the one you link to seems overly expensive to me. I bought a Canon Pixma 4600 for about 100€. And that was years ago. I just checked, and the current model is about 90€. The thing is, that the real money will eventually go into ink cartridge replacements. One load (up to 5-6) cartridges can cost you 80-100 €, if you get the original ones. Third party replacement may not work so well on special media like printable CDs. So, spending that much money already on the hardware when the main cost will be ink may not be the best choice if it's "just" a fancy.
