@Macirille: Well its another kind of activity. Comparing what you do to what they do would be like comparing a well researches documentation with 300.

ARMA are good for martial arts and much thinking on how best to employ weapons.

    Them I like.

Bobbin, youn think we do not get drunk at Viking Markets? viking Markets are like Valhal mate, we fight all day and drink and/or ravish/seduce women all night.

    that....is cool.

but honestly, I'm more into reenactments of the 18h century/US civil war era, rather than pre gunpowder.

Melee is more fun Ibrahim, nothing like slicing your enemy with a sword or poking him with a spear. Knowing that he would be dead or seriously injured were it a sharp. More adrenaline rush to it as there is increatsed danger of injury as well :-D

maybe, but as I prefer playing with powder, bucause I am a crazy ****.

besides, I grew up on watching movies/reenactments round some isolated fort in the middle of the american wilderness, from the french and indian war era. its why I make plates @ www.kronoskaf.com ; It has a feeling of nostalgia to when I was a kid I guess and I do want to join one of those reenactments from the era-when and if I get a well paying job. bright red coats don't come cheap.

say, are there any reenactments of Sarecens? maybe you can get me join is such exists.

Not as far as I know, but in England there is Norman who is a from the Caribbean and black as night, and Quanon who is a Pakistani. Both are very nice fellows, and both wear Saracen clothes to re-enact traders visiting the north for fair slaves and fighting.

May I suggest some better Viking links:

www.ulfhednir.dk (our sister group from Copenhagen)
http://www.ask-viking.dk/ (our new site under construction still)
www.ask-vikingekampgruppe.dk (our old site, pics and a film)
    http://schildwall.reenactment-combat.de/
http://www.jomsvikings.com/jomsborg.htm (a bit too hierarchial and formal in their structure but nice to outsiders)
    http://www.elvegrimarne.se/

On youtube search for (Moesgaard 200x-insert4-9), Huscarl, Jomsborg, HEMA
