Question Windows 7, installing EB and CTD after battle..

    Hey..
I've installed RTW to the standard location on C:/program files/Activision
    Install both patches upto 1.5

I then choose the exact same folder when installing Eb1.1 and then exact folder for EB1.2

    This is correct yes?
However, the game worked. I played, got to my first battle. Won. Then clicked the tick and got "RTW has stopped working".

Also I did the validate files and It gave a short list of files which doesn't make sense because all i've done is install it all, unless that was wrong?

    I'm on Windows 7, 32bit.

    Any ideas?
    Thanks

This has primarily nothing to do with a specific OS, RTW itself has a problem after quitting battles, you should wait at least 20 seconds before returning to the campaign map. For other reasons you can also see the frequent issues.

However, I would advise to install EB not under the Program Files directory, as this may cause problems due to the write-protection of Windows.

    Concerning your questions:
I then choose the exact same folder when installing Eb1.1 and then exact folder for EB1.2

    This is correct yes
    Absolutely correct

Also I did the validate files and It gave a short list of files which doesn't make sense because all i've done is install it all, unless that was wrong?
If you applied the fixes for 1.2 it is correct that the result shows "changed files"

    Thanks!

It seems to be working (mostly) now. I reinstalled it but to C:/ not program files just to keep away from the mess I had in there before and its pretty fine now appart from occasional times where if I ALT-TAB it doesn't come back but keeps minimizing.

Now i'm trying to get around this Hamachi multiplayer stuff...I posted in the EB multiplayer thread about it.

    Thanks

If you use trivial script, you can check the "run windowed" option or if you use a shortcut add -ne in the target line. You should have any other window running (explorer for example)

    Very useful!

    Another thing.
Are people running EB with BI or Alexander?
I can't get it to work..
I would like to use BI due to the AI and naval invasions but also I want to play online without BI ontop..

    Is this possible?

    EB with BI

    EB with ALX.

Use different installations of RTW to switch easy between the exes.
