I know this may be a little weird but, when i hear the main theme, i just want to cry

, well, the first time i played eb,i stopped playing it for like a month, then i couldn't separate from it, this happens sometimes when i hear a powerful theme but certain ones only, and i just love the music, but, does this happen to you, or am i just a freak

, i will make a poll and please tell me what you think of the music.
Edit: i may want to cry, but I DON'T, and cry as a feeling like i am in the game, i'm a triarii soldier killing dozens of gallic soldiers
Powerful. Doesn't make you cry. Makes you inspired and is suitable to the whole battle theme. Could I picture some other compositions in my mind that would go better in my opinion? Yes. Nothing that cannot be overcome.

I like blasting off Jethro Tull's "Heavy Horses" on my mp3 when i apply hammer and anvil ... just wanted to share

Powerful, but id does not make me cry. Main theme music and battle theme with drums (with Pahlava) are my favorite. When i play MP with my Carthaginians, game plays Metallica "One" and Hendrix "All along the watchtower" in background
It's cool and very inspiring music but it isn't something that makes you cry, but there is some music that can make you cry like some duduk songs

I found its moving, but moving in a way that sets a brave and inspiring movement in your heart. Makes me envision myself in front of an advancing roman army, cutting down the ruthless hoard of red sheilds side by side brave men
I'm reminded yet again why I spend most of my time on the .Org in the Gameroom.
EDIT: Also, death threats?

EB music are quite good and emotional.... but I not cry because of it yet.... ( I only cry when my 10 star general suddenly die because that stupid AI skewer him with a arrow thrower )

I said almost... sheesh, calm down, and i know that other music might make you cry but i'm talking game soundtracks, and yes, i too cry when my 10 star general suddenly dies, but i save the game BEFORE i go to the battle
Edit: Who the **** voted that the music makes you cry?

Yup, I think only one mp3 in EB uses duduk. I'll name it when I get a chance.
And yeah...who voted for cry? It's like 90 year olds playing EB, fake vote???

Depends on what kind of music you listen too, I guess. A lot of classical stuff is really good at portraying emotion. But to cry over it might be a bit excessive.
at the guy who cries:
1) you aren't a pansy. (at least I hope not)
3) its not deep poetry/literature,
and 4) I doubt its someone's funeral or mass murder.
there simply is no excuse.
but honestly: its only powerful in the sense that it is appropriate to the mod, and well executed at that. its not-at least to me-emotionally jarring. and I hardly ever have the music on when playing, which alone should tell you about my general attitude to music in general (namely, pretty apathetic). there are exceptions, but these ain't it.

first i'd like to clarify that i never cried to the music, idk why i voted i did but... i can't unvote lol, second, @ibrahim, yyou forgot the 2nd, u just put 1, 3 and 4 lol
hehe-that was on purpose; its a parody of when people say: "one, three, six!"
but yeah, I see your point. I suggest more care in voting.

I second that suggestion.

Good idea... If only I could figure out how to get some Jethro Tull into the soundtrack. Sure it's not totally historically accurate, but... It's Jethro Tull! Tell me it wouldn't be epic to have "The Whistler" playing while a group of Bataroas are brutally slaughtering some Rorarii!

Do not fell bad, jirisys, I agree - the music does indeed makes me want to cry. Yep, I am serious. Similar story too - I hear the music, after a period of separation from EB, I think of the long-gone grandeur of the Antiquity, I think of how marvellous and perfect EB is, I notice the moving quality and the 'epicness' of the song and yes, I do feel like almost crying. Now, obviously no one here, including me, bawls simply because of a game and some music, but it does make you want to do it, yes.
Cadwalader 08:26 02-09-2010
I agree that the main theme is melancholy and sad, but I've never been moved to tears by it. The impression I get from it is, "in a world gone to shit, you and your guys have to be the biggest assholes to survive".
The Roman theme, now, really is something. I can never bring myself to push the next turn button until it's finished.

It's damn fine music. However, if it made me cry it wouldn't be damn fine music.
The only music that makes me cry is music by Miley Cyrus. Or the Jonas Brothers. I swear when I hear such music (I never do so voluntarily, of course) I can feel my ears bleed.
