    True, but

Sorry, it is that is still amusing, even if what you said in the post I quoted is entirely true. And Heavens forbid The Wizard posts in the EB Forum...

EDIT: Shoot, now I have to post a three-page analysis in the Backroom to compensate for this preposterously brief post

THe best part of the show, though, is watching the pissing matches between the experts. The Spartan vs. Ninja one was pretty good in that regard.

Then the european destrier against samurais steeds (if they even had one), they would be bowled over. Finally sure samurai has a bow but it probably wouldnt be effective enough.

My moneys on the knight in plate armor wielding a spiked morningstar.

i almost guarantee they give it to the samurai because he can meditate.
    That's my boy!

Well, they did that here and the Samurai won IIRC, I think he could get through the obstacle course faster and when hung onto a puppet his armour could withstand an arrow.
Then again knight is not knight, the first armoured riders of the Franks were certainly different from the knights in the first crusade and the ones with plate armour.
Did I already mention that someone posted a good comparison by a guy who knows a lot about swordfighting?

I guess it was this one: http://www.thearma.org/essays/knightvs.htm (incidentally the first google result)

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

Ok, I'll admit that History Channel has gone downhill quite a bit. However, this particular show is not on the history channel. Its on Spike TV.

edit: and for those not familiar with it, this is the same station that creates stellar pieces of art like Manswers.

It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then, the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.

No, but our TV stations sooner or later copy everything bad from America, Britain etc.
We had a show called "Galileo" that was like a documentary about different topics etc. Now it's, well it does comparisons like this etc. and they added a show called "Galileo Mystery" around the time the Da Vinci Code was the newest shizzle.

On a different channel they had a show called "Quarks & Co." and that was rather "dry" treachings about physics with professors going through all the maths etc. Nowadays it's more like a documentary with a moderator as well but they still seem to reasearch their topics well, so I like it.

Whaaaaaaatevah. The history channel and spikeTV are practically the same damn thing nowadays, anyways.

And Manswers is a really good show, don't diss it.

    Default Deadliest Warrior

Has anyone watched this show? I saw some of the old shows on their website when a friend recommended it to me. It has to be the worst TV show I have ever seen. What a load of BS!

I'd really love to hate this show, but the truth is, it's fantastic dumb entertainment. That's about all I can say about it without going into a spergout of cosmic proportions.

Never seen it, but it looks pretty funny from that other thread.

Might not suit the history buffs but it would be pretty entertaining to watch a 17th century pirate fight against a 15th century knight.

lol, sorry. :P I didn't see your thread.
Did you see the aftermath of Attila vs. Alexander? Someone pointed out that Alexander was a superior commander and they justified their decision by saying that what really mattered was 1v1 skill. A question a little while later in the show pointed out that Alexander was a far superior 1v1 fighter, and they admitted that it was the truth but justified their decision saying that Attila's style of command made up for it and that 1v1 didn't really matter that much!
lol, how can people see that and not notice the stupidity, hypocrisy, and BS.
I am gonna be setting up a Max Geiger gel dummy in my back yard and testing my shotty on it.

i cannot stand that show so much. its all about the eastern mysticism as someone said dumb mindless entertainment. the more mysterious a certain fighter is the better their chances of winning are.

    meaning: samurai beats EVERYTHING

    cannot stand the show.

Samuri vs Viking was pretty silly. In real life the Viking would kneel behind his shield when the Samuri used his bow, and he'd have to face the Viking's spear in close quarters, not just as a thrown weapon (typically Northmen carried 3-4 "spears" into battle, or had their servant carry them).

Knight vs Pirate was also silly, the Knight didn't have a crossbow.
