Welcome to the org Barker the magnificent, enjoy your stay
The particular game (M2) is easy to just play and just win. However TW is a different species than the games you mention.
To play well and enjoy TW, ie to really know what you are doing, why you are winning in battles and the campaign and why you are losing, is rather hard. The game engine is complex, and there are many strategic and tactical layers in the game, despite having huge allowances for the benefit of new players past RTW and M2TW. Generally the older a TW, the more challenging it is, but already from M(1)TW you need some modification to enjoy a challenging game. Shogun is generally the most demanding in terms of sheer challenge.
M2TW is quite easy, and Kingdoms is even easier to "beat". However they have layers upon layers of gameplay, that although not optimised can be quite fun if you forget about win and loss and play the game in order to enjoy the immersion, the atmosphere, the battles, the characters etc live through an alternative historical path.
In that sense TW is one of the best franchises around and you may find that M2TW can be quite fun too.
