There, but for the grace of God, goes John Bradford
My aim, then, was to whip the rebels, to humble their pride, to follow them to their inmost recesses, and make them fear and dread us. Fear is the beginning of wisdom.
I am tired and sick of war. Its glory is all moonshine. It is only those who have neither fired a shot nor heard the shrieks and groans of the wounded who cry aloud for blood, for vengeance, for desolation.
Yeah, you can go. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
The movie was only good in its time.

You're welcome, Texas.

Texas is doing well know, but while its policies carry well today, soon it will backfire, as it always does, and Texas will have its own hard times. Or maybe not so soon. But it will happen. No-one thought it could happen to California ten-twenty years ago, but it did.

Vive le Texas libre!
I took this picture myself last year with a cellphone so the quality is rubbish. It is the Texas embassy in Paris. Still left standing, in eager anticipation for Texas to rise again and once more claim its rightful place under the sun.
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
There were many smart things Texas has done, chief among them IMO being: when you guys approved annexation by the US, you retained your property rights natively; meaning property of the previous Republic of Texas became property of The State of Texas, NOT of the States, United (US), as the other States had done. This was and is key to your economic and cultural independence and prosperity. Important decision #2 was in NOT subdividing yourself into (up to) 5 separate States - as authorized by your Constitution - instead exerting control over your entire domain via state-wide militias and laws.
Be well. Do good. Keep in touch.
O Rly? To paint hispanics with that broad of a brush is making a mistake.
Combine Cathlosism with Texas culture and you have some GOPers. There parents may have been blue but allot of there kids will go red.
Not to mention a hispanic democrat isn't the kind of blue white America is used to.
