    1. Most SP bugs are caused by installing the patch over a "used" copy of the game, perhaps the player is trying to run an old saved game, or perhaps one of the mods has not been unistalled correctly.
    Suggest -
ReInstall a fresh copy of the game and THEN run the patch. Do not use old saved games.

    2. Most MP drops may be caused by running a campaign or custom battle, then going online,
some discrepencies between stats are causing drops,
    Suggest -
ALWAYS close and restart the game before going online.

(thanks to Erado, Kraellin and Puzz3D for these tips)

    3. Most "vanished" or "unbuildable" units are due to all units will now show up ONLY in their assigned Era's, Late Units will not show up until the Late Era,

to find what era a unit is go here http://www.totalwarassembly.com/waracademy.cfm
and select troop type or faction drop down boxes.

(and thanks to many people who pointed this out - Doc, Inferno, can't recall the rest right now)

One very vital addition would be to make the SP and MP stats set separate so as one could play and mod the SP to hearts content while the MP stats remained constant. THis would save the constant problem of restarting MTW and restoring the original stats every time many want to play online.

This reminds me: TosaInu (I think?) asked us to add some kind of option to allow the stats to be reloaded without having to restart the game. This is now in the patch: if you add -reload to the game command line, the unit and projectile stats will be reloaded each time you start or join an MP game, instead of just the once when you load MTW. So you should be able to play a game, muse over the results, edit the stats files, then play another game and pick up those changes instantly.
