Default The Evolution in Definitions of Maneurisms

    Hey,

I've noticed a change in the meanings of many teenage/young adult words. One example I keep seeing is a "hook-up". I had always thought this meant having sex, but recently it has become a simple kiss. Lots of other examples, but I can't think fo them right now. Give me a day at High School and I'll be back with more.

Anyone else notice a change in phrase definitions over the past decade?

    Presumably you meant mannerisms.

I started high school in 2001, and over the last decade "hook up" has always meant a kiss or a date, the date definition sometimes carrying connotations of sex, but not usually.

I may be young, but I've never heard the term 'hook-up' refer to anything other than picking up some random girl at a bar for a romp in the hay, so to speak. Getting a kiss is just 'getting a kiss'.

I think he's talking about cardiovascular disease ... but only in men. Hence maneurism, as opposed to aneurysm. Scary stuff.

Perhaps he means "Manorism", which I suspect might have something to do with serfs and peasants of some sort.

Or maybe "Manureism", which also involves serfs and peasants, performing a more specific task.

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

What, is this voyeurism for women?
