    Default unit moding help

i need serious help. im trying to modify hit points for certain units and there seems to be three or four export_descr_unit files. i have changed and saved each but every time i load a campaign it doesnt show my changes even though i check again and they are still in the file. and ive tried the editor which seems to be only for custom battles and i thought it might be in the trivial script file but i cant get the actual application to open. by the way im using rtw gold i dont think it matters cause its 1.5. i would really like to know how to change and why trivialscript application wont open

It's not the trivial script, you need to edit the export_descr_unit.txt files in the "mp game edu backup" (for multiplayer) and "sp game edu backup" (for single player) found in the main EB folder.

If you have already done that, then maybe post an example of what you are changing so I can see if you doing anything wrong.

"C:\rome - total war\eb\sp game edu backup" for single player. i opened it up and took a look at export desc unit and my change was there but does not appear in game.
my change is to stat health changing 1 to 2 to give them an extra hitpoint. i see that no where when i play a new campaign.

Holy you give them 19 ap attack and 2 HP? and still 3111 minai as cost? OMG? This gonna be a practically cheap Katas-opener... and real tank Killin machine.... I think you should reduce their size too...

OR lower their lethality to compensate that

Thats very weird, you have done everything correctly so it should work, and it's definitely not showing up on the unit cards in the game? the only other thing I can think of is if you have multiple copies of EB and you have edited the wrong one by accident

Did you use regular old accessories notebook or a program like notepad++? I had all kinds of problems modding EB with notepad--since I started using ++ after seeing many recommend on this forum, I haven't had ANY issues.

Bumping this because having to change the file in the EDU backup folder baffled me until I did a forum search
