Default The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame [Concluded]

Might as well get this new forum rocking, get it? OK sorry.

Anyway my game, no 2 on the list has been ready to go for weeks. I have only hosted one mini game before, at TWC and it was pretty lame but I'm hoping this goes better. Intro:

The Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

In the haunted house at the top of the hill the dead musicians were getting ready to practice for the gig they were going to play as the world ended in 2012. The invitation had gone out to twelve legends, yet somehow fifteen had turned up. "The more the merrier" they all thought and proceeded to start jamming, immediately twelve stopped in horror at the appalling racket and the other three managed to stop just in time. Three of the band were still alive, and horror of horrors they were pop stars! There was even a definite Disney vibe in the room! They looked at each other and realised they were going to have to weed out the living if they wanted the world to end to a good soundtrack. The only way was to vote at the end of each day for somebody to be exorcised, if nothing happened they would know it was an imposter and he would be "punished". They all realised what would happen if they voted for a real ghost...

Looking for fifteen players. Feel free to sign up now, I will pm any early sign ups when the game is ready to start.

Ooooh, a definite Disney vibe! Does that mean that the mafia is none other than Miley Cyrus? I bet there's some .Orgahs who'd like to 'lynch' her... :o

You can count me in for this once you post it in the Gameroom proper!

Is it actually going to include the... spirits of dead musical legends?

Imagine it; John Lennon, Michael Jackson, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Pressley, Freddie Mercury... oh, and Miley Cyrus. xD

Well, I might have some of those... It's pretty biased toward my own musical tastes.

Sounds interesting, though I'm more a Willie and 'The Man in Black' type of guy.

What makes you think neither of those will be in? Like I say it's based on my musical taste, the townie roles will not necessarily all be "rock n roll".

edit: though I suppose only one of them is actually dead, can't see Willie Nelson joining the Disney mafia...

If you manage to reach 15 without me, however, then I will bow out and let the next person take my place.

Oh, and there had better be some awesome music in the write-ups!

Cool store, bro! I want some ham.
    No ham, pepsi.
They make deli slices of frozen pepsi now? Awesome!
You also need to purchase a small freezer for storage of your pepsi.
It runs on batteries. You'll need a few.
Uhh, I guess I won't have pepsi then. Do you have change for a twenty?

The fact that nobody wants to play in these games saddens me.

I wonder if it's due to them being small games, or due to them being hosted by "rookie" hosts like Cent and john.

In the first case, I feel that small games are just as fun as large games, but they just have a different feel. In the second case, that's really just unfair- how are the less-experienced hosts going to get more experience if nobody plays their games?? And hosting isn't even that difficult- in very few cases have I ever seen a bad host or an unbalanced game. What's making people who line up to join Mafia IX, Shadow Fort, and Star Wars suddenly chicken out when they see this one? I've even done a little advertising in those threads for Cent's game and got no results.

Sorry about that rant. It's just been a while since I played a good small game since they take so long to get sign-ups for. I really like small games. I'm also better as a mafioso in smaller games than in large ones (go figure ).

Anyway, I hope this fills up soon.

I agree Chaotix, players just effectively go 'they've hosted good games before, I'll stick with what I know' I agree small games are easily as good, its more intimate, easy to keep track off and less to suspect, yet that in itself often generates discussion.

Johnhughthom needs willing players, he has done AAR's, he is an accomplished writer, I already tell that this will be good if things go to plan....

    [Secura Approves +10]

Everything you both said pretty much sums up how I feel too; just go around like a walking advertisement as I do or poke people you know into signing up. I've poked Beskie into signing up, hopefully more will follow suit.

I think that the forum's generally missing the likes of CDf and Centurion who would join a game like this without hesitation, it's simply that they're busy with endeavours outside of the Org for the time being. It's just getting towards that time of year when people are preoccupied with other things. All the new or returning blood I see generally seems to steer towards the larger games too, which is a shame and probably doesn't help.

johnhughthom's clearly put alot of thought and effort into this and you can be assured it's going to be fun, so sign up!

I had a feeling I wouldn't get the sign ups for this game, there have been an awful lot of new games recently and if I'm honest I probably wouldn't have time for this myself. Thanks for everyone who signed up and expressed interest, especially you Secura, your effort was much appreciated. I think it may be best to call a day on this.

I think the new system doesn't have room for 4 small games at any rate, 2 the same as large would be preferable I think.

Its a shame, perhaps at the TWC instead when your ready to host john? I would try hard to recruit players, many players.
