Agreed. Single mafia games often work the best. With multiple groups, mafia are genuinely searching for mafia in thread, and often do a much better job of catching them then the town does (a la inishmore).

I admit, I tend to like the single-mafia games myself.

But with the multiple mafia setup, you don't get any confirmed innocents from updates.
