    I stopped using AVG a long time ago because it took up too many resources and missed a lot. Also, there were a couple of false positives that would not go away.

    I've only come into AVG in the last year or so, but I havent noticed that.

    Then again, coming from a Norton background, everything else seems to run like butter...

    That's probably because Norton is one of the worst programs out there. Ever.

    Good call on the Superantispyware. Downloaded and ran it. It found some trojans Spybot S&D hadn't - and one of the items I had noticed in startup and was questioning where it came from after noting poor PC performance over the last couple of days. I've been running Adaware and S&D for a few years and all they ever found was tracking cookies. I was beginning to question whether there was really nothing or they weren't finding things they should. Well, out with the old, in with the new.
