At the time I was posting that I was first talking to Renata via IM and then afterwards with TheFlax to explain her position since she left, so I chose to wait. I guess I could just toss names out there for no reason if that is how you prefer this game to be played. Granted, someone who is mafia would want that exact thing to happen.

Oh, I forgot, you're new, so trying to act like the big boys...

I tend to agree with Renata, so Vote: atheotes.

I must say that the case against atheotes is very interesting to my mind, even at a level beyond the game. It's an immediate application of ATPG's "Mafia ESP" theory (which was definitely true for Subotan in Sigurd's game), and I'd very much like to see if it holds water beyond that game.

This is true. I just checked and split hasn't posted in 5 days. Likely a wasted lynch.

    Unvote; Vote: atheotes

atheotes hasn't posted in 2 days, but that's a lot better than 5.

I'm not questioning his motive, I just wanted to know why he thought Methos' post was scummier than Scienter's. Its not because Romanic is dead that he's suddenly infallible.

Here, though its rather brief and incomplete, I did not have a chance to talk alot with Renata.

Who said I was infallible? It was a probe to get Methos to talk/vote, like a lot of people do. I don't get your reaction here.

I'm asking because I wanted to know why specifically that post. I think it was valid to point it out and it actually indirectly led me to Scienter's post, who might I add has still not voted. Also, I'm not expecting something, I'm genuinely curious. Maybe my question sounded aggressive, but there's no point in me doing that, since you're already dead. Basicaly, I'm not accusing you of anything, I just wanted to know more, specifically why you picked that particular post.

That was a reply to Sasaki asking me why I was questioning someone who is already dead, implying it was bad and scummy. I happen to think everyone and everything should at least be somewhat questioned. Funny how an innocent question can lead to all of this...

My FOS post was intended to foster some discussion before everyone started voting. I tend to agree with the others that spl1t is probably going to get WOG'd. Vote:atheotes.

I wanted to see Kagemusha and TinCow defend themselves a little before I voted. While I agree that TC has been distracted with work-related IRL stuff and crack Civ IV, but I still suspect that he'd be able to pm around discretely enough that I wouldn't notice if he was scheming.

Your own votes, Niklas, are pretty much the ANTI mafia ESP thing, which is interesting given that you're clearly aware of it (everyone on your list of end-of-day votes is still alive).

Re: split, from talking to Romanic it appears that he won't meet the WOG requirement until approximately tomorrow, so full disclosure: if you want him to no longer be plaguing our hind-brains with "why did he show up only when he was on the verge of WOG, only to disappear again?), you will probably have to vote for him.

About Atheotes, though, the vote pattern is really far too short for mafia ESP to apply. What I do see there is:
-- four votes in six days (two non-votes).
-- three of four end-of-day votes on a pre-existing and ultimately successful bandwagon (no making waves here)
-- very little in the way of commentary in general ... except he wrote a good long post when I accused him the other day

It's a very scummy pattern, and he deserves to be lynched for it.

So does split. But I prefer Atheotes first because of the last point that's been mentioned, his last-hour vote on white_eyes, moving WE from four votes to five against a whole passel of people with two votes. (One of whom is now dead -- Romanic.) If Atheotes turns up mafia, that group of people should prove good hunting.

i would llke to point out TinCow's comment:
"atheotes hasn't posted in 2 days, but that's a lot better than 5."

atheotes stopped posting exactly after Renata and others made a case against him. Just before this, he was out there accusing people, including myself.

    aka, he is scum.

It is the typical atheotes mafia-manoeuvre.

you just forgot? wth! the town has the right to know. at first you would make the public if you would not be reelected. Now you have not been reelected and you break your promise. jesus, its the same with all politicians. Maybe Diana is your mafia pall. I DEMAND that ATLEAST THREE MORE PERSONS are NOTIFIED of your DECISIONS as a NAIB!!! i think that is a reasonable demand.

and fos at you, for this very scummy forgetting and breaking of promises.

There is no point in coughing up the night orders. They don't really tell us anything. The Stranger is just being a conservative slave to tradition (since the first naib arbitrarily revealed night orders, he demands that the 2nd does, without thinking about why).

I recommend that The Stranger's requests be ignored.

The night orders tell us something later, or when they are successful. Until then, no.

There's no need to satiate your personal curiosity when there remains a distinct advantage in keeping private information private at the moment. Whet your appetite for information later.

    Day 8 - Conclusion

The daggers didn’t talk a lot, despite a former Naib stressing the importance of the proceedings.

Some daggers seemed to have better things to do, like scratching their behind or playing civilised computer games. Others didn’t even talk at all!

If there would be Gods, they would be disappointed when confronted with such apathy.

At the end of the day, two daggers were found to be very suspicious.

The new Naib reread her notes and then looked up.

atheotes,” she said, with a soft and gentle voice. Carefully, she put the note with the name on the table.

She walked over to a wooden platform and mounted the stairs, leading to the platform. Standing on it, she took off her Naib cloak, revealing the scabbard that was hanging from a shoulder belt. For a brief moment, she looked up, at the sky. Diana hadn't been herself anymore since the day the handsome man who delivered pizza's had been executed. She sighed and then looked down.

atheotes,” the Naib said again, soft and gentle. “Please, come over here.”

atheotes looked up at his Naib. He was… afraid. The previous Naib was a more than decent swordswoman. This one would probably be of equal skill, or maybe better. Allthough some executions had been more messy than others, at the end of the day, the lynchee always died. He didn't want to die.

Carefully, he mounted the stairs, his right hand on his sword, his left hand on a silver dagger, not losing sight of the Naib and her movements. He was looking very pale. He didn't want to die.

The Naib waited patiently. She seemed relax and confident.

When atheotes was almost there, he started to tremble. He couldn't do this. He just couldn't.

“Screw this!” he exclaimed. Suddenly, he made a movement, as if he was going to turn around, to run away, away from certain death.

In a flash, the Naib drew a silver dagger and threw it at atheotes. Her aim was perfect and the silver knive entered his heart. Fast as lightning, the Naib jumped forward, unsheathed her blade and cut off atheotes' head. His body was still falling, when his head floated through the air and hit the stairs.

The daggers stared at the head, bouncing slowly off the stairs and stopping right in front of them. When they looked up, the Naib was still holding her sword in her hand. Staring at a point in the distance, she whispered softly:

“Get to your hotel rooms. Tomorrow we’ll know if he was the one we’re looking for.”

It's funny how everyone defends Renata's decision not to reveal the orders she processed yet the same didn't apply to me, it was all "tell everyone when your term finishes".

If I'd have opted to retain my choices, I'd have been painted as scummy. -_-'

EDIT: I'd suggest that either Diana or her successor considers utilising those two vig-kills on suspects, might get lucky.

First of all, the odds were against us before, as they are now, however with each successive round the odds improve, if we guess randomly. There are fewer "wrong answers" to choose from.

Second, past performance is not a reliable indicator of future results. Failures in the past do not increase our chance of failure in the future, and I can demonstrate with math that our chances actually improve here.

Thirdly, I fail to see the point of your incessant and non-constructive negativity. It doesn't help anyone, not the team, nor your credibility. So kindly stop, thank you.

I had Diana sit in a comfy chair, and I've poked her with the soft cushions, and ordered her to confess to being the ancient one.

Sadly, no such confession was offered. However, I can report that she seemed to enjoy the experience. I'll tell you more later...

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
