Thread: Adding traits on the console

Default Adding traits on the console

    Hello everyone.

I got Medieval Total War 2 a short while back and spent 8 hours playing it straight. As you can tell from my username, I cheat right away. :p

But at any rate, the biggest issue I have with the console is adding the traits to certain characters. For example, those with multiple names or two or more characters with the same name are either not recognized, or confused for each other.

To give an example, I started an English grand campaign and while I was able to get the traits added in for most of the characters (something I wasn't able to do at all with the German faction), I could not get the merchant and diplomat's names into the console without it telling me that they did not find the character. The diplomat's name is Laurence Bidell. I tried using only his first name, last name, both names together, and both names with an underscore in between (Laurence_Bidell) and in quotes, but it still didn't recognize the character.

Can anyone drop me a line on how to do this, please? Thanks in advance.

Alright, no need to answer I figured it out. All you have to do is make sure the character is selected and use "give_trait this" Followed by whatever it is. I guess they wanted to simplify the system and get around the annoying titles they get after maxing certain traits.

Now I can have master assassins kill everyone in All Europe! :D

Hey man, thanks for the tip. I was searching a whole list of good ancillaries but I found this. It will help greatly as Morris of Northampton will be a master merchant in no time!
