herm accordingly to some texts provided by macrille the gaesetae are most likely a fighting style and not a unit per se so they would be an amazing warrior anyway before/to be able to fight in such a fashion
so cutting back on their stats seems a bit stupid since one can almost consider them the prelude for solduros since they had to have the means and the willingness to train hard (individually yes and not as a coordinated unit) so most likely they where either already experienced warriors who wanted to gain more attention from their leaders and thus fighted in that style to try and collect more recognition (and by it more females lands slaves or some ther way of aknowlodging their superior skills) or they where nobles and had to prove their station in life
the reason why i say a prelude for solduros and don´t cut my head off here please is that one can imagine chieftains after fighting romans and seing their habilities as a entire army responded as a single unit decided to start gathering it´s best soldiers (and those where normally the one´s with the highest ranks and thus people who fighted in the gaesatae or knew the style of combat) and create a kind of elite mini legion
i mean from the keltoi point of view it makes perfect sence to try and counter such an effective "design" for an army since we all know that the romans also influenced greeks and sirians and numidians alike
so as a solution and if their stats can be cut down then their fearing hability and their offenssive stats should be slightly enhanced and maybe even give a small moral bonus to surrounding units (i will not say to give it an advantage in ambushes since gaesatae by their own style wouldn´t hide but instead would tease the enemy into single combat)
