New Problem - Game won't load

Please ignore my previous thread. I bought a new copy of the game to resolve the error I was getting.

Now i'm facing a new problem with my new copy. The game won't even load. The screen just goes black, and I have to press ctrl+alt+del to end task.

PC details:

Vista
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz(4 CPUs)
3326 MB RAM
Directx 10
GeForce 8800 GTX
1680 x 1050 (32 bit) display

Any ideas what could be causing this? I've already tried running in compatability mode and running as an administrator.

Your graphics card will be causing it. I can't remember the specifics. But, the nVidia 8800 series are not very compatible with MTW. In fact newer cards + older TW games don't mix well.

It ran fine a year or so ago on the same graphics card. I updated the driver not long ago, for another game. Maybe that's what's caused it. Either that, or Directx 10. Those are the only two things which have changed since I last ran the game successfully on this PC.

Quick update - I've tried removing recent drivers, but it's still not working. Running out of ideas here. If anyone can suggest a way of fixing this, i'll be extremely grateful. I know for certain there is a way round it, because the game has ran perfectly on this PC (with same gfx card etc) before.
