    Well, the Kölner Dom (cathedral of Cologne, Germany's biggest church) took about 300 years to build, start to finish. Most large castles and fortresses took at least 10 years, often 20 or more. Granted, if you had the money and the power, you could probably build a cathedral in 5 to 10 years, but then you're taxing your national economy to the max - for one single building. As it is, build costs and times in vanilla M2:TW are probably way off... in the player's favor!
