I'm seeing his influence at 3 actually.
Should I do a battle report for Maroboduus' raid on Campus Quadi?
Visimar have 3 Influence "wreaths" in-game(in RTW:BI). So, according to rules, he have only 1 Influence during the Council Sessions(maximum would be 5).Originally Posted by Rules
I thought this could be used as a cause for civil wars and this doesn't make the king too overpowered currently when we have so few players. This can be changed with a Rule Change when ever you want.
You should ask that from Lord of Lent. Perhaps he want to write a story about it or something.
Perhaps I should rephrase that so it could be more clear then..
I have to ask, how hard is it in BI to raise your influence stat? Is Visimar an anomaly? I don't mind having only 1 influence by the rules, but I find it odd that everyone else has a fixed influence, while they also have an influence stat, with the king being the exception. I think this rule is a hold over from Authority in M2TW, right? (all other characters except the king having Loyalty instead of that stat.)
Also, shouldn't the 1/2 influence stat be rounded up? It makes for a much more even spread.
1-2 = 1
3-4 = 2
5-6 = 3
7-8 = 4
9-10 = 5
Anyways, that's just food for thought, I'm not complaining or anything.
1. The best way to raise someones Influence is to put him into the city as a governor or let him fight some heroic battles. The first option is not an option currently and Visimar have fought only small number of battles and in most of these he have outnumbered the enemy. If he manages to destroy those two Roman armies that were in North-Italy I think his Influence might rise. Also, you should check his ancillaries. That "Overseer" ancillary is giving -1 Influence. I think that was the only one.
2. Yes, this is a hold over from Authority in M2TW.
3. I think I thought about the system you proposed but can't remember I didn't chose it. Actually, it looks like a better way to determine the kings influence.
