Ok guys (and girls),
I am an old player of RTW and I just installed EB 1.2. I 'm trying to play a campaign with KH. I noticed I cannot raise militia hoplites in Sparta. Only in Athens and Rhodes. Is that normal? What can I do? Thanks

one of 2 things:
either your barracks arent the correct level yet
or,
since EB has historically accurate recruitement zones, it may be that militia hoplites cant be recruited in Sparta.

Thanks for the prompt answer. Sparta has higher level barracks than Athens and Rhodes and a type 1 government. I should be able to raise every faction troop type.
Sparta indeed can't recruit militia hoplites. Iirc, that's because they didn't allow lower class people to fight as hoplites.

Heavy skirmishers are actually as good in melee as militia hoplites, I find, after throwing all their javelins. Although they do cost more. And if I need garrison troops, toxotai (archers) do just fine.
Sparta has no need for militia hoplites.
