Default have a little problem with mtw 2

heres my problem ive tryed 3 different factions England, HRE and Scotland for some reason at turn 99 to 113 my faction instantly dies on long or short even if i complet victory condtion it just randomly dies, ive tryed all 3 with small armys in my settlements, and 3 blitz armys to qickly gain ground, games with all hugh armys in settlements, games with cheats, games with no cheats but it always seems to happen at turn 99 to 113 my faction just dies ( as in my whole faction turned rebel) and just a added note i have a stedy income ( 10k-20k per a turn by turn 75) so i know its not money. so just wondering if any 1 else has had this or is it just me coz its annoying me when am about to be able to get gun powder artili but my mate has this game and it doesnt happen to me

Hello Draticus, welcome to the Org

    The
    "whole faction turned rebel"
thingee ('feature', the devs call it) happens because you are too successful, in my experience. Turn 99 -113 is approximately in the game experience where you (the player), having played a few rounds now, have mastered income accumulation and troop deployment, so the game algorithm decides to throw you a curve: faction-wide rebellion.

It happens to other factions as well, rest assured. The key is watching the morale ratings. Starting around turn 80, if you keep track, even though income seems OK and you've won the battles and provided bread and circuses to the natives, troop morale can start declining - slowly at first, then cascading near the 100th turn/year.

It's not intended to stop you, but to make you 1) watch the morale settings more closely and 2) make good decisions about which side to back, after the rebellion starts. Sometimes, it's best to back the Old King, sometimes it's better to back the rebel step-son. Carefully look at the stats presented, and make your choice. If your choice doesn't work out, pick a replay and go the other way.

    Again: welcome to the Org

thanks for the reply and thanks for the info on my army moral but a weird question, will this happen if i keep winning battles in auto resol battles coz the HRE was my first camp on e/e and i lost like 2 battles out of like 53+ so should i keep my garrasons in towns to half to 3/4 full becoz all of them were full stacks always had 10 archers, 5 infi, 5 cav. all settlements have green faces high pub order % aswell if so ill try taking my time in a new campain

Hello again Draticus I took the liberty of copying your thread and questions over here to the Citadel. The fellas here are more experienced with the game than I am, and I'm sure they'd love to help.

Citadel Guys: welcome our new friend Draticus, and see if you can help him through his strategic situation.

thank you Kukrikhan as some of you see as my first post there is a few problems that have came up, my who faction rebels at turn 90 to 117 at turn 90 on short and turn 103-117 on long this seems to happen becoz ive hardly lost any battles on e/e i did a HRE on e/e and had 51/45 settlements ( including rome) then at 103-117 the whole faction goes rebel, ive checked all my settlements they all green faces with high public order and such, all have 10 archers, 5 heavy infi ( normaly 3 sword and 2 pike type infi), 5 heavy cav. so the banners are full i have just enuff income to support this army. but i was wondering if it is true that if im winning so many battles so easy is the game just killing me off to say slow down or something. well here is my what i do as any faction.

have the settlements near my outland borders ( next to another faction) as castles and the settle ments behind all them and were i know i wont get attack are citys to get income so its like the iner of my land is citys the border settle ments are castles ( so i can mass produce half stack armys to scout/ crush any army that gets close/ if a settlement is 1/4 or almost empty take it) but the other problem i have is income when started any new game on e/e or any mode i only have 4-5 places ( depends who i play) b4 i start running out of money and my main army is almost wiped out then am left with only basicly units to keep into my settlements.

so am wondering what am i doing wrong or if any tips can any 1 give me ( i played rome total war and i found that easy on vh/vh i was able to conquer 25+ settlements b4 it got out of hand. Thanks to any 1 who can help me

sorry for double post but just did a english game ( turn 40ish) i have 109k gold, but only have london, york, nott, dub and other in wales, and caen, every time i get sieged in caen i go into battle i have 6 longbow, 5 cav + gen, 4 heavy pike + 2 heavy infi, the frence keep attacking they have siege equip + blasiks but they always drop them and just stand there even on h/h they wait for me to come out i mean 6 longbow on wall for def, i send cav far behind then enemy and infi+ pikes in front the flank them behind with cav but why is the AI just standing there if i dont want to send my best army after them b4 they siege me b4 i have a chance to rebuild or retrain more :S they seem to do good on the map but inbattles they have no brain :S

The main issue with your game may be that you've not given enough attention to your royal line...

The "whole faction goes rebel" thing in M2TW happens when there's no potential heir left to take the crown... It is one of the quickest and most effective ways of taking out an AI faction btw.

The fact that it happens around turn 100 also points in that direction : your starting monarch is generally about 40ish when game starts so should last about 40 game turns and his son should last the 40-50 next turns...

One way to avoid this problem is either by accepting adoption of generals, marrying your princesses to one of your generals or to an AI faction heir.

    This should solve your problem.
