Default Can that sucker be upgraded?

    Hello again!

In my KH campaign I just took Ambrakia where the Epeirotes have a level 2 MIC.

It cannot train KH phalangites or Epilektoi Hoplites.

#1 Is that because I don't have the right government yet?

#2 Is there a chance that it cannot be upgraded to level 1 KH MIC?

    Thanks.

Umm, I do not really understand it, so I'll tell you a few things.

You have 4 types of government:

Type I (homeland) - Factional MIC up to lvl5, regional up to lvl2
Type II (Expansion - Factional MIC up to lvl4, regional up to lvl3
Type III (outlying) - Factional MIC up to lvl3, regional up to lvl4
Type IV (outlying client) Factional MIC up to lvl 2, Regional up to lvl5

MICs (sort of barracks) are divided in two groups, factional and regional. They go from lvl 1 to 5. One having the least recruitment, 5 giving the most possible for that region. Factional gives you your factions troops (Hippeis, Hoplitai), Regional give local troops, like Illyrian Spearmen.

KH Phalanghites are available when the Romani build a huge city in Italy besides Roma (usually Capua), they are bound to the March of Time, just like late bodyguards. I think Epilektoi are the strongest hoplitai of certain regions, so expect that you need high lvl barracks. Try the recruitment viewer!

If I remember well, the Epeirotes and Koinon Hellenon share factional and regional barracks.

I hope that was of help.

    I appreciate it Fluvius Camillus,

I just checked out the rec viewer, although Ambrakia is a homeland for the Hellenes the Distinguished Hoplites are not available there at all.

Now the MIC is named Ephebeia Epeirotike Phrourike kai Skeuotheke (L2).

Will that "Epeirotike" thing prevent me from upgrading it to Askesis Polemike kai Skeuothekai (L1-KH)?

If I take all of Italy before the Romans build a huge city there will that mean that the Hellenes never get to have phalangites?

    Thanks.

If you share barracks you can always upgrade it, do already have your own government installed?

And yes, you have to control yourself if you want some sturdy Macedonian phalanx.

The best thing you should do is stay out of Italy for the team, and focus on the northern Barbarians or try to take the eastern half of the Aegean. Be creative, there is surely a thing to do in the meantime. Check you barracks once in a while, if you suddenly can recruit Koinon Hellenon Phalanghitai you can kick the Romani out of Italy.

    Good luck!
