USB Mouse start to get on-off on off on off.....

well, I'm using a laptop, and it had touchpad, so it wasn't a serious trouble for normal browsing and typing...

but recently, my USB mouse had gone weird, and it goes on - off on off on off.....
but the mouse itself is ok (tested on 3 other comp), and the USB port is normal (can detect and play another USB devices nicely)

and when I put another mouse, the same problem goes again...

is that driver related? or mouse recognition related?
well, I can't use my laptop to play games or draw without that mouse.... thanks...

Faulty connection. I got a mouse that does the same. Though using a different mouse, it doesn't occur.

faulty connection? I allready explain that the very same mouse goes well in another computers.....

And the USB port itself are also fine, they can doing flashdisk dunctions perfectly, read external hd, powering laptop coolers...

Well, that is generally the issue with that sort of problem. My mouse I said about works fine with other computers, it only goes in on-off-on-off mode if the cable isn't a certain way. As such, I could easily slap it between computers and doing a fiddle, see cursor move and doubt it is the mouse as well.

You also need to put in qualifiers. Does it do this straight away and constantly? or is it every now and then temporarily?

You also say that other devices work fine with your computer, have you used another mouse with the laptop? if that works perfectly fine, wouldn't that deduce the issue is with the mouse, especially as the mouse has been working fine up untill recently?

How many physical USB ports on the system? If there are more than one, does the mouse exhibit the same behaviour when plugged into another port? If it's the only port, then you should suspect the port itself. Even so, test it with another mouse.

it was occured almost constantly now, and every mouse put in every USB port in my laptop exhibit that behaviour, not just that mouse

It is the port then, by the sounds of it. Computer mice can be more sensitive to it than other USB devices.

Interesting question, depends on the nature of the problem itself. If it is a hardware problem, then you simply cannot do anything with a laptop, unless you can get it sent back to the manufacturers due to the warrenty/insurance you got, and hope they can fix it.

If it is a driver issue. you go to the laptop manufacturers website and install the latest drivers from there or it that isn't working correctly, you would need to uninstall the drivers for that specific port, then use windows/update to auto-install the required drivers.

If it is a spyware/virus/software conflict issue. Great range of ways to deal with this. from reformatting your computer and clean installs, to adequate software to deal with the issues.

If it's happening with every USB port on the laptop then it's more than just a simple loose connection, but could be a more serious hardware issue.

It could also be software related - remote, but worth a try. Go into device manager and remove all the drivers for the USB root hubs and USB controllers. Reboot and let the drivers reinstall, then try again.
