    Default EB + ALX

So I haven't played EB in quite a while, and I wanted to fire it back up. I have a copy of the Alexander expansion, and I figured I'd try that setup, as I rmemeber hearing a lot of good things about it in the past.

However, the directions for getting it to work are terrible. I've spent a lot of time looking for answers, but it's all very confusing. Can someone familiar with the process give me a good run-down (layman's terms, please. it's been a long time since i fiddled with Rome) or a link to a good run down?

Also, my EB shortcuts direct to the trivialscript no matter if I install it or not. What's up with that? I don't remember that from the past. How do I make them look toward an EB.exe? I think that might be my real issue with getting ALX to work.

    Thanks in advance, y'all.

You've read the thread by Maksimus?

I would strictly advice to install RTW into C:\games or similar, not into the Program Files and not into another device.
    In details:

    1. Install Rome Total War + 1,3 and 1,5 patches.
    2. Install Alexander expansion or extract the Alx.exe file only into your RTW folder.
    3. Install EB 11 and EB 12.
    4. EB fixes.

    a) To play EB with only improved engine you need use
    5. ALX engine files. (http://www.zshare.net/download/51697518abdc7e31/]
IIRC this already fixes the immortal FMs.
Afterwards create a new shortcut to ALEX and add to the target line: -mod:eb -noalexander -show_err -nm -ne

Feel free to ask if anything is not understandable or unclear.

All I did was install the game, download the files the thread told me to, and changed the shortcut and it worked just fine afterward. A lot of the instructions are misleading though, I thought you had to change a lot of stuff in various txt files, but you don't have to change anything.
