    Default Having difficulties setting up a hotseat game

    https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/showt...1-PBMs-A-guide

    I read this thread and tried to follow the instructions regarding setting up a hotseat game.

    One issue I noticed right away was my medieval2.preferences.cfg file read:

    [video]
    widescreen=1
    [game]
    allusers=1
    And that's all it said.

    But no mind, I followed these instructions:

    1 Go to the M2TW main folder.
    2 Find medieval2.preference.cfg
    3 Right click on it and select properties.
    4 The properties window for the file opens.
    5 At the bottom is the Attributes field.
    Deselect Read-Only.
    6 Hit the Apply button. Close the Window.
    7 Open the file with wordpad/notepad.
    Done.

    8 Find [hotseat]
    9 Add below that admin_password = yourpassword
    "yourpassword" means what ever password you want
    10 Save the file.
    11 Right click it again, select properties and enable the Read-Only attribute.
    There was no [hotseat] so I added it in, and created an admin password.

    12 Create the hotseat save like normal. Disable the console if you don't want others getting into it.
    Here, I tried to make a hotseat game but I could only select one player, not multiple.

    I've done this before, I hosted at least one game.... what's wrong? Can I see someone else's .cfg file?

    I've had immense amount of problems with hotseats in the past. I am a sad panda. Why doesn't anything work for me like it does for others?

    Don't be a sad Panda. :)

    Here's what I have:

    [multiplayer]
    playable = true
    hotseat_turns = true
    hotseat_scroll = false
    hotseat_autoresolve_battles = 1
    hotseat_disable_console = 1
    hotseat_disable_papal_elections = 0
    hotseat_save_prefs = 0
    hotseat_update_ai_camera = 0
    hotseat_validate_diplomacy = 1

    [hotseat]
    admin_password = *********
    disable_console = 1
    autoresolve_battles = 1

    If you don't make multiplayer=true, you won't be able to select multiple factions.

    Heh, figured it out thanks to Merlox:

    I was selecting single player mode for a Kingdoms hotseat. I needed to select multiplayer. My mistake.

    Thanks Quirl for responding quickly.
