Default EU II Saved Game Editor

    Hey...

Can someone point me in the right direction on how to edit a saved game in Europa Universalis II to change province ownership? I had it years ago but Google is letting me down now.

    Thanks

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

I know that in EU3, you can edit it directly with notepad.

I might have to do it in my file. For some reason, in my save (over 200 years worth of play), some of the ingame options have bugged, like the drop-down list.

    Thanks.

I'm finding pieces of information but couldn't locate a guide or walkthrough. It's pretty easy to do but difficult if you can't find a province ID map and etc.

The EU 2 Scenario Editor (If that's what you're looking for), no longer works since 1.05 (The final/current EU2 patch is 1.09)

Are you at war with someone, have their province, but can't get them to accept peace/access their home territory? I've had that happen, easiest fix is to browse through the "wars" section near the start of the savegame and edit the warscore so that it's in your favor. That and decreasing badboy/giving money to the AI france in 1419 scenario were the best uses of save game editing.

No I'm not at war, just looking to make a map using the game so Concert of Europe players know exactly what they control, where their armies are, etc. Never mind; got it. Then maybe a list of where I need to make changes in the text document. I really need to join the Paradox forums anyway. This is a good a reason as any.

It's a shame that the scenario editor doesn't work anymore.
