So, Sweden's biggest newspaper just published this story about Texas, I know SFTS is gonna love this.
Link to the article in Swedish
Long story short, according to Sweden's largest newspaper, Texas accepted this in their school doctrine:
* That the separation between the church and the state was a mistake.
* That the US culture and values is a thing of good in the world.
* That taxes hurt economic progress.
I am sorry I don't have the link in English. I am however sure that some scandinavian speaking member can vouch for the authenticity. And here's to my debating points:
A) Given the US was very much borne as a secular state, and that the fact that the founders did NOT fight hard to make it so, but rolled on common better knowledge, argue against this.
B) US culture being good in the world. Yeah, it is not at ALL like US embassy's is the prime target no. 1 all over. No wait, is it? Don't get me wrong, I in no way support terrorism. Just saying that you see a whole lot more of anti-US stuff than pro-US stuff on a daily basis around the world.
C) Taxes hurt economic progress...
So you want to make your own hospital for you and your friends?
Maybe Swedish media is all wrong about this. But if they are right, and this is what Texas schools teach, I get a little bit scared... I still hope Swedish media blows it out of proportion though.
