    Welcome aboard Michael1,

Concerning this problem, if you're trying to change the formation of your army in the combat scenarios of the game, you want to use your cursor to select multiple units and then push the 'group' button which groups them together. (You can also simply press CNTL/A which will automatically select your entire army.) The 'Group' button is in the box in the lower right hand corner of your screen that features three white banners. When you push that button then the gold smiley faced button in the lowest right hand corner of your screen lights up. Push that button a new small panel appears offering you various formations that you can form your army into. Select one of those icons and the army will suddenly switch itself into the formation you chose.

If you're simply trying to change the formation of one unit by speading out the soldiers of the unit into a flatter or wider size, or vice versa, trying to make the unit fatter and deeper; use the underscore/dash and +/= keys on your keyboard. If you group multiple units together, you can use those same keys to change the size, etc., of multiple units. Then to get the spacing between units back, select the smiley faced button and reform your group of units into the quick formation you desire.

Hope I understood your question correctly and that my instructions made sense to you.

    Hi Michael. Answers:

    1) This is an event trigger bug fixed by Patching, so see 2)

    2) Get the patches here: http://www.totalwar.com/index.html?p...l&nav=/en/7/3/

But check which version of RTW you are using - the version is shown on the top right in the Options menu.

If 1.0, download and install Patch 1.3 then 1.5

If 1.2 or 1.3, just download and install Patch 1.5

Savegames are compatible, but best to back them up first .

    3) You could buy the Rome Anthology (RTW + BI + AL) or BI and AL seperately, RTW is old and they are all available budget price.

If you need a digital download try Good Old Games (www.gog.com) and Steam (http://store.steampowered.com/)

    4) For help with squalor and governing cities https://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forum...?78-RTW-Guides

Hope that helps and welcome to the .Org
