General Pepper: There it is.... this must be the base that Andross has constructed over the star's magnetic pole. The star's magnetic field acts as a nearly impenetrable force field; our cruisers are not equipped with the kind of magnetic shielding it would take to survive in there. The Cornerian fleet cannot continue, so we need you to go on alone. A smaller, more durable craft might be able to generate a field large enough that envelops the entire ship safely.
Panther Caroso: ....It would polarize our navigational deflector, short out our guidance systems, overload our sensor arrays, destabilize our shield matrix, and fry our targeting computers. However, we would still be able to steer our ships, navigate by sight, and shoot manually. We'd have to avoid taking too many hits, but we can do it.
Pigma Dengar: *oink* I've got an even more advanced ship, so it should be a piece of cake. That reward's as good as mine!
Andrew Oikonny: What could possibly go wrong??? We're
Star Panther! We're not afraid of some magnetic field.... send us on our way, General.
General Pepper: If your mission succeeds, you'll be pardoned by the Cornerian government, be awarded enough Cornerian credits to retire in luxury, and granted territory on any of the planets in the Lylat system still controlled by Corneria. Panther Caroso: We're heading in. Make sure that Andross doesn't get any reinforcements. I don't have time to watch my six while I'm in there.

The Cornerian fleet waited behind while Star Panther, consisting of Panther Caroso, Andrew Oikonny, and Pigma Dengar, attempted to penetrate the force field barriers on the outside of the construct. There were six energy towers, protected by heavily shielded Androssian drone fighters, and at the center of the construct seemed to be a massive gateway, protected by a vast array of shield generators, ion cannons, and even more drone fighters in reserve. The space outside of the construct was filled with energetic plasma carried by intense solar winds, flares and prominences, and extreme magnetic fields. Even the relatively protected area around the construct was a war zone, with all of the automated defenses in place. The approach would not be easy, but Star Panther seemed undaunted by the challenge.
Pigma Dengar: *oink* Just like old times, Andrew old pal....
Andrew Oikonny: These fighter drones are no match for us!
Panther Caroso: Easy to outmaneuver... they haven't built a computer yet that can fly better than me. But their ships are heavily shielded.... my blasters can't penetrate it.
Pigma Dengar: Here, let me try mine! ....
*oink* No good, I can't break through. Let's try it together, Delta formation.
Andrew Oikonny: I'm in position.
Panther Caroso: Fire on my mark.... ready, set, mark.
The three Wolfen ships concentrated their firepower, and overloaded the enemy fighter group's shield grid. The force of the blow caused the drones to scatter, some of them impacting the energy towers, others crashing into the gate itself.
Pigma Dengar: That's it, we've still got it! Okay, how about those energy towers?
Andrew Oikonny: Bow before the great Andrew.
Panther Caroso: We'll take them down with one shot each, on my mark.....
The Panther team easily took down the 6 energy towers, which cut power to the Gate's shield generator. The force field began disappearing....
Pigma Dengar: We did it! But there's more fighters approaching fast, coming out of the gate....
Andrew Oikonny: I'm not afraid of
them!
Panther Caroso: We're going to break through that squadron, and meet inside. Let's get going....
Pigma Dengar: Wait a second. There's something else emerging from the gate.... they're massive....
Shogun Droid: Ah ah ah.... you didn't say the magic word! 
Gorgon: We are the gatekeepers.... are you the keymasters? 
The Shogun and The Gorgon appeared from within the Gate, and immediately began chasing after Panther Caroso with mech droids flanking and missiles launching. A missile exploded directly behind Panther himself, sending him flying toward the edge of the satellite, toward the dangerous radiance of the star below them.
Panther Caroso: Perhaps today.... IS a good day to die!!
