Ok, so I have got some permissions to use some models in our mod, and I've re-skin them, so this is the (rather small). lists of units...

Melayu Bodyguard Elephants (rider model by Wlesmana's LOTR TW.) and Melayu militia (models by wlesmana).


European Elite Swordsmen (model by Halie Satanus' EOD) and Swordsmen Militia (just dismounted and reskinned Sarmatian Auxilia), the European general is actually Boromir when he got haircut (thanks for Wlesmana's LOTR TW)


Turanggawesi horse (the riders is still BI model) - maybe I put the seprei too big?

they are just some lowly militia... can't afford more than simple bamboo shields... and those logos are intended to be some cheap paintings on their shields, rather than actual metallic emboss...

well, after eating instant noodles for 2 days, I finally have done some improvement:

1) I've made some reskinning so the soldiers are more realistic now, no more cartoon feelings, coz I'm copypasta actual garments to their skins, but maybe I'll ask jiri to refine it again... (still had some bleak spots:



2) and this was the result of my recent crash course (bothering wlesmana alot on his FB page, as well as seaching modelling tutorials archieve), here we go... the Penjurit models, with square "papan" shield and javelins



notice that their models are designed with more effective way of spear handling, so while the militia often break their own formations, the penjurit had longer reach and capable to maintain a solid line.

3) of course, I've made the european swordsmen militia had longer, more proper arming swords, as well round buckler instead of thureos (yes, they are thureos because I took sarmatian auxilia as base model) - note that wasn't the newest screenies, the newest skins had real european faces, but I still search a way to reduce skullheadhq's frescles... without compromising the textures

That's Sampin Mr. Tirta.... Sampin is worn until knee, but sarong / kain pelekat / kain batik worn until anklebone...

How to wear sarong (in this case, kain pelekat) : This is Malay style, Bangladeshi, Tamil-Muslim and Myanmar men also have kain pelekat, but wear it with different style...

well, I use sarung for blanket.... so they should be moved to that area, or better left unchanged?

Non-military and militia can used kain pelekat at that area (shoulder), while regulars and nobles wear at waist as sampin.

BTW, I just made Sriwijayan Skirmisher unit, armed with javelins, and quite skilled with spears....

yupz, the babad, and another historical records describe european generals and such elite units are covered with steel from head to toe (much like Javanese nobles, just wearing different style of armour - the javanese had catass type (scales and partial plates over chain) armour, and europeans should historically worn fullplate)

Honestly, the European swordsmen militia looks err... not like European swordsmen militia. Look below, adding that european model buckler, removing spear and giving sword and we have European swordsmen militia.

And it had to be pikemen, but the spear too short, and the animation is wrong.



BTW, Portuguese standard looks weird with the silver ring. May be it should be smth like this?

yay, good Finn, CW's models did look wrong, but at least he only a very newbie in modelling

perhaps you should PM either me or CW the ziddu link for testing
don't worry about the pikemen, they have secondary swords yes? they will use "phalanx" formations, so the spear should be automatically generalted via engines, and they will use EB pikemen animation.

ANd those models should also have crossbowmen models the difference between elites and regulars are just skins, afterall..

Don't be confused by their names, I had to replase existing CAS in BI folder, so, I gave them that name. Remember to assign texture to the new folder.
