When you wish real-life was like San Andreas/Sims where you go to the gym for the day and you come out looking like the Terminator.
When you type "up down left right left right a b select call" on your phone wanting to unlock the real-life versions of the cheat console.

For me, it's definitely when a game starts appearing in my dreams that I know I'm addicted to it. I don't know how many times that's happened to me, but it's gotta be in the hundreds for sure.

Cliff Racers are easy; just keep a bow primed and your eyes pealed.
You know you're addicted to PC gaming when you have a dream about Italian Spear Militia holding the line (MTW).

Reinvent the British and you get a global finance center, edible food and better service. Reinvent the French and you may just get more Germans.

When a burned-out motherboard ruins your plans for the entire weekend. (Dang, no virtual activities for me, purely analog reality!) And here I was just getting into Europa Universalis: Rome Gold.
-edit-
I could buy the OS X version for the laptop, but somehow I can't see paying for the game again.

when you realize it's never going to be the same and buy a console
I went through a period where I lost my addiction to computer games. My flatmates used to comment how I was a perfectionist, in having the tidiest room, always up on time, went to be early, always on schelude, cooking, cleaning, etc.
Then I got Rome: Total War.

I think I'm entering week 3 with no gaming PC. Waiting on warrantied power supply to arrive. I gotta say, I really appreciate Valve bringing some game to OS X, 'cause I would be completely high and dry without this laptop. At least I can do some Portal, some Half-Life 2, some Team Fortress. It's better than absolutely nothing.
But come on, Thermaltake, get me that PS!
