Its true that in a "showing off" contest between diplomats that Pyrrhus' small herd would pack less punch than Seleukos' magnificent lot.

I have read an opinion (or guess) that Hannibal brought Elephants to Italy more to impress Kelts and other locals than for actual fighting. The argument is the Romans knew enough about Elephants by this stage not to be terrified by them, but to a Ligurian or a Semnone they were most impressive "Lookit, I'm from a superpower. Seen any Roman Elephants lately? Didn't think so lol". In any case they nearly all died off pretty quick, dunno if any actually took an active part in battle (besides serving as Hannibal's "tennis umpire chair" at the rear of the line).

That makes me think of Elephant mounted FM's, but thats only really a possibility if there's a Mauryan Satrapy in EB2...
