The game can not be played outside of steam.

(ergo all patching is done entirely through steam, there are no standalone patches)

I was able to successfully download the imperial pack, heroes of the napoleonic wars, and elite guard pack via a website...it worked without any hitch

Does the Imperial Pack have the Grand Battery and Scots Greys in it? If it does can you tell me where to download it. I have everything that steam has put out there.

    Thanks

Wow... played my custom 14K army set at hard... did what would normally defeat AI and got crushed. A thoroughly excellent update (although I do prefer the blue backgrounds to menus myself, but what the hell) that'll give veterans a good run for their money.

Updating outside Steam means you'd be using cracked versions until such times as all DLC for Napoleon is released on DVD like they did with Empire.

I could be wrong about this, but unicorns are exclusively Russian artillery, so you'd have to be playing as Russian and have a fully developed tech tree.

Grand Battery and Scots Greys are not yet in the game - to have them included would be nice, so I for one would be happy if a future DLC contained them.

If I am wrong with any of the above, please reply so that I'm not talking rubbish in future, hehehe.

Grand Battery is inside my game for preordering through Amazon but it's so hard to use I never took the time, it makes armies slower than with normal foot artillery.
Ja mata, TosaInu. You will forever be remembered.

    Been to:

Swords Made of Letters - 1938. The war is looming in France - and Alexandre Reythier does not have much time left to protect his country. A novel set before the war.

A Painted Shield of Honour - 1313. Templar Knights in France are in grave danger. Can they be saved?

Well, that happened once, and then seems to have returned to normal... maybe I've automatically adjusted my gameplay to compensate, but I do find that I need to be on-the-ball when battle AI set on "hard".

Yeah mate, I was reading somewhere (prolly another thread here) that promo units are not available if you never got one from the retailer... buyers had a choice between Grand Battery, Scots Greys, or a battleship. It would be nice if they were now made available to all.

Just had N:TW crash to desktop... twice it's done it when I was at crisis-point in a battle and clicked a unit card. I'm only just getting into N:TW, so it might've been doing that before update if I'd been playing more but can't really tell as I'm only now ramping up my gameplay in anticipation of getting broadband in about a week's time. I usually don't bother about the odd glitch, but two days in a row makes my nerves twitch.
