    Hello,

You need a car with unparallelled technology that's attached conductors on its roof and some lightning bolt in the right time, preferably in front of a cathedral.

    Hope that works.

That result isn't helping a lot for two reasons:

    1. it shows download times and not your bandwidth, I'm not in a mood to calculate your bandwidth from that

    2. it's from speedtest.net and I don't trust them because I think their servers or your connection to them may just be slow which would change the result

That said, it could just be that your ISP or some connection between your home and the internets is overloaded, your cables could be falling apart etc. I went away from my last ISP because my ~10MBit connection would slow down to a crawl(5Bytes/sec downloads and BFBC2 lagging heavily) for several hours almost every day and I didn't really believe they would upgrade their infrastructure just for me (I heard of similar problems from other people with the same ISP so it probably wasn't just my connection).

Verizon DSL here, but I forgot how fast it's supposed to be. It seems Windows Firewall somehow got switched on, but deactivating it has helped only somewhat.

Download Speed: 146 kbps (18.3 KB/sec transfer rate)
Upload Speed: 119 kbps (14.9 KB/sec transfer rate)
It actually got much, much worse in Speedtest.

    I went to DSL Reports...

Well, your best bet is to call Verizojn and tell them your internet is a lot slower than it used to be.

My point about speedtests can be demonstrated easily, I made a speedtest earlier after reading your post, it told me I got a 20MBit connection and my max download would be 24xx.xxKB/s, now I downloaded a demo from a fast server and got this:

Which is about twice as much as the speedtest said would be my maximum (I should have up to 50MBit but I'm not complaining ).

If your internet slowed to a crawl when it shouldn't and you checked your PC for viruses and Malware, as I said, contact your provider, tell them about your problem, that it's new etc.
Be nice, be sure that you're right, you may have to insist a bit if they don't believe you (this is why it helps to check your stuff at home first so you can be sure it's not on your side).
IF they don't do anything, claim that you're not getting what you pay for (never had to go there myself although last time I just changed the provider without even complaining), if that doesn't help, find a better ISP if possible.

That's what I would do but AFAIK in the USA the ISPs are few per area unlike here in Germany where one gets a few to choose from.
