    Default Victoria Problem

Hi, I ran into something weird in my Victoria game, and I cant find anything said about it on the Paradox forums. I know we have some Victoria players here, so I thought I would ask them

Its 1868 in my Switzerland game, (Original Victoria game, no expansion pack) and I noticed that I am earning .02 Diplomacy points per year. I noticed it because I am currently at war with Sardinia and want to get my peace terms.

the little info screen shows that I am getting 1 point base, 1 for being at war, and .5 for prestige. The problem seems to be that that is getting multiplied by something called Diplo-efficency, which is at .01.

If somebody could tell me how I can get my diplo-efficency up, or some other way to get a decent amount of diplomacy points a year that would be great. Thanks in advance.

(And I think I finally understand the game Almost turned Switzerland into a great power, and I have managed to greatly industrialize my nation.)

2.5 is getting multiplied by 0.01?

Weird, never saw anything like it. But still, you should 2 Dip actions every year, at least.

    Accumulation of diplomatic points

A country gets a basic allowance of one diplomatic point per year, standard. If the country is considered a Great Power (i.e. if it is one of the eight most powerful nations in the world) it will get a second point per year. If the nation is at war, it will receive a third point per year. Beyond this, the number you receive depends on prestige. Uncivilized countries recive half the points civilized ones recive.

Effect of prestige on accumulation of diplomatic points

Once twenty-five prestige points have been attained, you will receive a quarter more points per year. At one hundred prestige points, you will receive a further quarter of a point. You will get another quarter at five hundred and twenty-five hundred prestige points as well. There are no more thresholds beyond this. It is possible to build up a supply of diplomatic points, but be aware that your stock cannot go above ten.

Effect of events/inventions on accumulation of diplomatic points

The number of diplomatic points you get can also be changed through certain events, such as “Aristocracy vs. Meritocracy”. Aristocracy increases your rate of gain by twenty percent, whereas Meritocracy reduces it by twenty percent. The satellite nation status decreases the rate by fifty percent.]

I did get Aristocracy and Meritocracy, But I am getting a lot less than what I should in that situation . Would have been helpful if they actually told you what that event did, rather than simply having a blank tab by each option.

I may simply have to soldier on. Accept their own peace deal and hope my diplomacy points gets higher, and goes back to normal over time.
