Thread: Low volume custom Tracks ?

Default Low volume custom Tracks ?

    Hey guys,

I just finished adding new tracks to the campaign playlists however when played through Rome's Audio software in-game my custom tracks are very low volume compared to the original tracks.

The custom tracks properties are an exact match with the originals in Rome 192 kbps @44khz, when i play the custom tracks with Winamp they actually sound louder and clearer than Romes tracks, why would this be ?

I am going to process my custom tracks with Audacity to give some Gain, and analyze Rome's originals for reference.

Also i noticed in the different States there is a volume value for each list. In the CAMPMAP sections they are set to -40 but in the BANK: living_city_music the value is -35" While at the top it says :
    DEFAULT: priority 9999 randomdelay 0 pan .5
    DEFAULT: dry_level 1.0 wet_level 0.0
    DEFAULT: pref MUSIC STREAMED

Does this mean tracks in the Streamed city music have a higher probability of playing ?

Just looking for a way to make the playlist rotation more even, i seem to get alot of songs repeating or several songs playing rapidly in succession. Oh and what is the Kbps threshold for Rome's audio player, not having much luck when i tested some 320kbps tracks.

Perhaps merge groups of songs into single files? That would stop tracks being repeated quite so frequently.

Not a bad idea you have there, i was hoping to utilize Romes randomness so you don't actually know what will play next. I'm curious as to why there isen't just a simple shuffle function so tracks never repeat, maybe script could be made to achieve this effect ?

Thanks for the feedback. :D < yes my first Edit!!
