a totally innocent sig...
Seriously my rating is a 4 or 5. I suck at battles but am beyond godlike in campaign.
In my opinion, number 10 should be BEYOND GODLIKE.![]()

I would rate myself between 6 and 8, depending on the kind of forces I have under my orders... With cavalry, I can be brilliant...
Philippe 1er de Francein King of the Franks
between 3 and 4 to be honest I barely win hard battles only if I'm outnumbering them by 3:1 or more![]()

The art of war, then, is governed by five constant
factors, to be taken into account in one's deliberations,
when seeking to determine the conditions obtaining in the field.
These are: (1) The Moral Law; (2) Heaven; (3) Earth;
(4) The Commander; (5) Method and discipline.

So what if it is fictional?
He is referring to being an in game general ...
weak troll
@ Myth : your answer to that post seems most inappropriate, noble sire...
From my point of view, this question was asked from an in-game point of view (which seems to have eluded you...)
Philippe 1er de Francein King of the Franks
chill dude ;)
As an in-game general I'd say everyone should be better than the AI. But on a tactical level, you don't need to guess - just go play MP.

Admitting that you have a problem is the first step to helping to remedy that problem.
It seems like your feelings of remorse over venting your frustration here instead of releasing it upon more appropriate subjects may indeed be the first step to getting your nerd rage under control once and for all!
The progress you're making is great, let's pick up here next week. If you continue to work this hard, it will be no time before the nerd rage that flows through you will be minimized and manageable! I'll bill you for this session, and you are welcome good sir!
Wow. You got that from some intelligent site
But seriously this rating is for people in total war games. Just chill it's not like anyone here is stupid enough to volunteer and try to prove themselves.

Seriously my rating is a 4 or 5I agree with these two statements. I am a fair general, definately not the greatest! In MP I would be a 1...mabey even a 0 or -1!I barely win hard battles only if I'm outnumbering them by 3:1 or more
Silence is beautiful
Depends largely on the line up I am using.
Lately (being for the last two days) I am playing a Scottish grand campaign, both settings on hard and I found myself to perform quite well with lots of spears, some missiles and cav for flanking. It's pretty easy most of the time hehe.
I just killed the last English army on the British isles and took London. It was me (Scots: 600~spears 50~ swords 300~ merc crossbows and highland archers and 160~ cav) against an English army of 2700, mostly militias, 4 archer units and 3 cav as well as a general as reinforcements (garrison from London) and I finished the battle with 300~ losses for me and total annihalation of the English army hehe. (Also managed to capture their King and Heir xD)
What I absolutely hate managing are like very late game units. I actually kinda hate the whole gunpowder thing =(
i'm only 2 or 3... that's why i love the campaign as you can develop multiple armies that can gang up on a single army.. i learned it from the Mongols...
i'm a lousy general but a great scheming plotting backstabbing faction leader. lol...
I'm a horrible general =S I kinda like to spam the crap out of cheap to recruit/upkeep units and outspam everything else.
This is a bit easier to do in Shogun 2 than in M2 but yeah =p
10, I don't lose battles to other factions. A rare lost is only against the rebels and that's because I'm trying to trigger the man of hour event.
My Art of War
1. Never get caught off guard (small garrison at borders)
2. Field better troop compared to everyone else.
3. Don't ever let the enemy general fight one on one.
4. When assaulting never depend on ram, I always bring my own artillery.
5. In large open field battles Calvery shall only be used to flank causing a massive rout every time.

I must recommend Stainless Steel 7.0 (when it comes out). VH battles and a good AI army with heavy cavalry will really give human general a run for his money, if it's in the field.

I am far too modest to rate myself as a general. I'll leave that to others who know me well.
I will say though that, however good you think you are at this game, you haven't experienced just how hard it can be until you play in a multiplayer hotseat campaign against other humans. Come to the Throne Room to try it out!
frogbeastegg's TWS2 guide....it's here!
Come to the Throne Room to play multiplayer hotseat campaigns and RPGs in M2TW.
In battles? I can beat the AI on any difficulty with inferior forces but would not bet on myself against a human player, so maybe 5 or so.

Kermit's made a TWS2 guide? Oh, the other frog....
I'm saying a 4. If I could shout commands at my computer armies then maybe a 6![]()
Oz never gave nothing to the Tinman that he didn't already have
I would rate myself a 7 against the AI, and a 4 (or even less) against another human
