I have been playing fantasy rpgs for more than 20 years now ... I demant Fantasy TW

Lord of the Rings would be cool
It be nice to see the TW series progress gradually right up to modern day, I know this would be very demanding as maps would have to be HUGE.
Post 15th century TW is a must as more powerful gunpowder units become available. If you think about it the Total War franchise can last liek 10 years or....
Yo can have:
-Napeoleonic TW
-Ancient TW (Roman, Greek, Persian..)
-Colonial TW(World Map, England, Holland, Spain...this could be very cool, imagine a Spanish expedition to South America, or the English landing in North America, The British gighting the French in Quebec !
-Absolute TW (LOL or some more intelligent name) World Map WW1 era. Fighting the Italians in North Africa, The Gremand against the allies in Europe....WMD ...mustard gas, trench warfare....
Well we can just go on and on I think since the possibilitioes are HUGE

The middle ages is the "Samurai Era". The civil war (Sengoku Period) started in around 1487, ok so a bit after the Middle Ages but you get my drift.

fantasy got my vote but the conquistador age would be a nice setting to see made.

I don't know about the more recent times as totalwar is really about melee not gunpowder. I would like to see either a fantasy/LOTR or roman TW as these fit the game more appropiatly
is it just me or do 90% of fantasy fans relate everything to LOTR or D+D or Warhammer.
fantasy is just that, a completly mallable fictious realm. *IF* CA decided to do a FTW then i highly doubt they would try to get rights from ANY existing fansasy realm.
furthermore, TW is still about unit combat, and a wizard with spells and such would be a tough decision for the dev's. i would like to see it, and a mana system would have to be developed for it. very complicated and demanding task for CA, they would have to start from scratch.

Aaw, there's already sooo many WOII games and some nice Fantasy ones.
But there is not a single good Ancient game.
Ancient period definately has my vote.
Not too much would have do be done to create one anyways.
Just a new map and new factions and units.
Latro has it right, there is a huge need for a decent ancient warfare-empire management game.
But... wouldn't that be quite a huge task for a MOD? Maybe our only hope is a new TW, but I doubt they would opt for ancient, looks like (if they don't want to use the same map again) they have to go for americas... maybe a colonization TW is the next in line...
DEVS would you please be so kind and hint us as to what the expansion is going to be... at least? Be subtle, be secretive, but say something...

I would go for fantasy, as long as it's a fantasy with A BIT of magic and "monsters", and a big bulk of medieval warfare. I do not wish to end in a D&D-esque game with fireballs wiping half the battlefield while hordes of giants fight armies of dragons.
But fighting some orcs and having one or two wizards, and possibly one fight against a drake...

My vote went to Ancient. came down to Fantasy and Ancient and seeing as how RTW just looks sooo nice i had to vote for A.
I've got to go with the Napoleonic era. The conflicts during that time period were so epic and widespread that it really captures my imagination. Having said that, I'd also go for a TW game in any setting that they care to develop a game for
