Yes, a glass of wine does sound good to me as well. I don't really like the taste of ale.

The child stares at Diana and Alexander. Wine? What kind of Lanun drinks wine?

Its all scary and dark out there, but, I don't mind if you all go first!

Investigate the final resting place of Sonny (?)

Vince, the mayor's wife emerges then, eyes fierce but still red from crying.
"Who the h*ll killed my husband?! I'm disgusted with you all. Fighting over a petty sword when there's a werewolf among us."
    She spits on the ground.
Mommy mommy, do something! The stupid fat men don't want to give me the shiny thingy, all I wanted for my birthday was daddy's poke stick

When someone had died or was dying or was so ill they gave up what little hope they
could sacrifice, they cut parallel lines into the cliff, exposing the white chalk beneath.
With the right eyes you could see them from the mainland or the fishing boats and
know to send aid or impose a cordon of protection, and wait a generation until
whatever pestilence stalked the cliff paths died along with its hosts. My lines are just
for this: to keep any would-be rescuers at bay.

    Evening Update 1

Evening again. The accursed rain once again began to pour from the clouds. Seas seemed to howl as the speed of the wind approached unprecedented level.

Meanwhile, the two watchmen that were sent to investigate Sonny’s body cursed the gods and the other villagers for sending them out alone in such a weather condition. But that was mostly their problem and surely not of much notice to the other villagers.

“But mommy!” the Mayor’s daughter, shouted. “I want daddy’s pokey stick. Give it to me! GIVE IT!”

The blacksmith, Romanic, laughed. “Don’t worry. I promise I will give it back to your family later.” The other villagers nodded in agreement. Surely someone like the blacksmith would be the one to take care weapons in a dangerous circumstance like this. The mayor’s daughter walked to the corner of the inn and pouted.

“Hey! They are coming back!” the Traveling Actress shouted. She pointed outside the window at the two silhouettes walking towards the inn. Sure enough, the watchmen burst angrily through the door, soaked to the bones. “I need a towel,” the first watchman demanded.

“Well,” the innkeeper asked. “What did you find?”

“Nothing!” the other watchman snapped. “Absolutely nothing. Nada! Just a half eaten corpse of a young lady which we buried in the town cemetery. You should really try that out sometimes. It really is a unique experience. Trying to dig a hole and bury a corpse inside it while trying as hard as you can not to look at the ravaged corpse. I felt nothing like that before!”

“What he’s saying,” the first watchman said. “is that the whole affair was a bloody waste of time.

The villagers all broke into chatter. They couldn’t believe it. There was a werewolf among them and they had just wasted the first day.

“Screw this,” somebody said. “I’m going home. I need to sleep,” “me too.” “me three.” One by one, the villagers left the inn, trying as hard as possible to forget that the whole affair even happened.

Not that it matters much, with Romanic winning the tally, but Autolycus voted himself, not me :)

I would leave you presents, outside your retreat, in this interim space between cliff
and beach. I would leave you loaves and fishes, but the fish stocks have been
depleted and I have run out of bread. I would row you back to your homeland in a
bottomless boat but I fear we would both be driven mad by the chatter of the sea
    creatures.

    Morning Update 2

The rain and the wind had now died back to the annoying drizzling and slight growls now. Still, the storm clouds continued to gather and now people were starting to feel the general sense of unease about the whole place.

The first Watchman and the Village Elder was hovering around the crime scene. Herbalist came rushing in, took a single look at the crime scene, and then fled mumbling something about another appointment at the inn. "So," the Watchman mumbled. "What do you think?"

The elder raised an eyebrow. "You must be joking."

"Oh wait!" the Watchman mumbled. "I have a secret weapon right here!" he took out a small bottle.

"What is it?" the elder asked.

"It's some kind of magic fluid I got from mainland," he said as he sprayed the liquid inside the bottle around the crime scene. "Just as I thought..." he mumbled.

"What? What happened?" the village elder looked at the crime scene, which was now glowing ghostly blue.

"It seems that the entire area..." the Watchman paused for a dramatic effect. "Has been saturated with semen."

The village elder's eyes nearly popped out of its sockets. "IT'S BLOOD, YOU IDIOT!" he yelled. He then immediately stormed off towards the town.

"What? Blood? But that means..." the Watchman sadly turned back towards the crime scene and at the ravaged corpse of Joooray. "Yeah, the guy's dead." He took off his hat and offered a small prayer to whatever gods the dwarven tinkerer may have done. "Oh what's this?" he said as he picked up 3 spheres. It would be put to vote later.

    .............................................................

"I'm here, what did you want me fo...oh..." the scholar said as he walked into the bar. The innkeeper grimly greeted him and pointed to God Emperor's naked body. "So, what's your opinion of it?"

The scholar took one look at the body. "Did you call the herbalist yet?"

The innkeeper sighed. "Yeah, she took one look at the body and fled as if the world was out to get her or something. Your opinion?"

"The guy's dead," the scholar said.

The innkeeper sighed. "Even I could tell that, Mr. Intellectual. What I want to know is how he died, why is he naked, and what the hell is he doing in my inn."

"Oh," the scholar said. "Perhaps it was Colonel Mustard in the study with the...no wait that wouldn't work..."

The innkeeper sighed. "Well, I guess I should move the body to a place where it wouldn't bother other people. Could you help me carry his equipment?"

The Scholar nodded and tried to pick up God Emperor's equipments. Something fell to the ground with a clattering sound. "Oh what's this now?" the scholar said out aloud as he picked up the object. It was a Bejeweled Scimitar.

    .....................................................................

Now the villagers crowded themselves into the small inn. They all glared at each other, unsure of what was to happen.

"Uhh..." one of the villagers tried to break the ice. "Why don't we go and search the Mayor's room? You know... for clues..."

The Watchman opened his eyes. "I am SO not burying that body."

I have no idea what the three spheres do, but they would be a nice shiny prop for me! That way I can be play a juggler or a baseball thrower.

The eyes of the child grows vivid with life as he notices the three spheres. "Toys!"
He pauses for a second, before blushingly stating, "Death is Yonder can have them. He sends the girl an emberrassed glance before his attention is caught by another marvel; the wondrous weapon of the late God Emperor. Once again, his first reaction is greed, and he stares in amazement at the beauty of the item, before shaking his head. "CaptainC would need it, I think!"

"Investigation? I don't care, it's boring and it was useless yesterday. But the adults can decide if they want to look at more blood for themselves. I want to go play!"
He motions for ACompletelyInoffensiveName and Nictel to join him. "Let's catch a fish!"

Sadly nothing came out of investigating yesterday. I, the grape farmer, think that investigating today will result in a positive outcome. As far as the beautiful items being put up to host I would like the 3 spheres and give wideye that bedazzled item.

The captain looks surprised at the sight of his blade, but the surprise swiftly shifts to anger.
That basjargle! He just wanted to give me the mayor's sword to salve his guilty conscience!
The Scimitar is mine. We may be a nation of pirates, but that does not excuse theft from among our own kind. Please, return it to me.
I don't think that investigating is sufficient action at this time. remake20 is as good a candidate as any I've seen so far for the orbs, although I may change my mind, and I will be more inclined to give them to someone who helps me reclaim my scimitar.
I will share my thoughts of who must pay the ultimate price in our quest to save our town later.

Oh... Autolycus is right about all that... the scimitar is his, give it to him, won't you? And remake is a good choice! Grapes, orbs, how different can they be?

The child looked at the angry autolycus with respect in his eyes. "You can have it back," he says, naïvely as if presenting a gift [unvote; vote: autolycus]. "Can I try holding it, though?", he adds with boyish fascination gleaming in his eyes.

Two deaths yet again. At least our adversaries are consistent. That's also good that Autolycus has found his scimtar again. Hopefully he can put it to good use. However I dare say that I, the Scholar, have a much greater chance of determining what the sphere's do than some grape farmer.
