You are always highly interventive in the game, especially if you are a townie. Based on that reasoning, it leads me to think that you are pretty much up to something and wish to slide under the radar as long as possible.

The clerk scratched his beard.

"I think it's only fair that the mayor's daughter, Death is Yonder, should have her father's diary as a keepsake", he said gruffly, "and the idol would probably be best in the hands of a pious man such as TheFlax."

He refrained from casting a damning vote, however, as he didn't have a clue what was going on.

It only makes sense that the Idol goes to TheFlax. As for the diary, I'm sure I could translate it, but if the mayor's daughter wants it... I will let the rest of town decide that one. I'm also suspicious of Autolycus. His actions are like that of a beach chair that folds under the slightest amount of pressure.

Midday Update 3

Something was wrong.

Something was always wrong with this island, of course, but today was something different. Arguements were much more viscious. People struggled for control over mere trinkets, and the disease of insanity grew amongst the populace.

People, however, marched onward through uncertain future like pawns on a chessboard, destined to die in confusion and panic. What were they marching on for, they did not know. To victory? Perhaps it is so, but why did this battle begin in the first place?

The mayor's diary and the strange idol may shed some light to this, but if they had any insights upon the fiasco, they remained silent.

The beggar girl has been harassing me for almost a day now. She pointed out that the wheat farmer had expressed opinions about the items, which showed a commendable improvement. I therefore decided to acknowledge that and give him some time to take a position on matters of life and death, before I lay down to my afternoon nap. I wake up, and she's shrieking about my easing up on the wheat farmer. And I discover that you agree with her. I'm disappointed in you. A man of your education should know better.

EVENING UPDATE 3

The merchant, Tiberius of the Drake, was sitting quietly in a corner by himself when all the attention in the room was suddenly focused on him.

"What...what's going on?" he managed to stammer.

"You..." the healer said, pointing at him. "You did it, didn't you?"

"Did what?" the merchant said, standing up. He grasped his cane like a protective charm.

"The murders, doy." the town idiot said. "Even I know that."

The merchant's eyes went wide. "I did not! I won't stand for these insults..."

"Well, answer me this question," autolycus said. "Why did you even come here?"

"What?"

"Are you serious?" the retired captain laughed. "Why would a merchant of all people come to visit this island in a private skiff? It makes no sense."

"I...I..." the merchant failed to answer. The villagers all murmured in excitement and began to point on accusing finger on the merchant. Could it be that the merchant was the murderer?

"NO!" the merchant screamed. The cane in his hand suddenly turned into a sword and he swung it viciously. "Back! Back! I don't want to ki-" The merchant's eyes went wide as he felt the black blade of the Mayor's Sword pierce his heart .

Romanic, the blacksmith quickly pulled the blade out of the merchant's body. The sword seemed to quiver with excitement as if it was happy at being used.

"Well, that's it then," the captain scowled. "Was he the culprit?"

"I don't think so," the watchman said. "Looking at his body, he's not a werewolf, and there's no proof as to whether or not he was the other murderer. Sadly, I believe that we have to conclude that...

Every villager stood shocked. Did they just kill an innocent? The villagers could not escape from the inn fast enough. The mayor's daughter clutched her father's diary tightly in her arms as she journeyed home alone.

Well that's bogus reasoning. If I wanted to avoid suspicion I could just act normally and vote the items to someone random.

Based on that reasoning, I think your scumdar is broken.

The adept comes to from a trance-like practice session with metamagic.
"Oh, an Idol? Yeah, I could take a look at it. And, why don't we give the diary to Csargo, the Elder. If anyone can read it, it's someone with a century full of wisdom."
With that, he proceeds to sit down on a rock and teach himself Water Walking.
